Naver D2SF, which is making investments related to improving AI (artificial intelligence) performance, has decided to make new investments in two AI technology development startups. This year alone, we decided to make new investments in 19 AI-related startups.
Naver D2SF announced on the 28th that it decided to make this investment as maximizing AI performance has become important in various industries.
The startups eligible for investment are ‘Squeeze Beats’, which is developing AI model lightweighting and acceleration solutions, and ‘GenGenAI’, which is developing AI-based learning data generation and synthesis solutions. The two startups are developing AI technology solutions for AI.
Squeeze Beats is a new startup founded last March and is developing a solution to accelerate AI models by reducing them to 4 bits or less. Quantization-based technology maintains AI model performance and allows calculation processing speed to be increased to the limit. We plan to verify the technology by this year and introduce official products starting next year.
ZenGenAI is a startup with image and video AI technology, and is developing a solution that automatically generates and synthesizes AI learning data. It is evaluated as being able to efficiently upgrade AI model performance by quickly securing high-quality data that is difficult to collect. We plan to complete performance verification within the year and begin formal commercialization starting next year.
Yang Sang-hwan, leader of Naver D2SF, said, “The AI technology startups we have newly invested in this time are paying attention to AI performance maximization solutions and are quickly verifying their technological competitiveness even though they are in their early stages of startup.” He added, “We are also interacting extensively with Naver’s various AI technology organizations, so there are various synergies.” “We will pay,” he said.
