Wemade (CEO Hyeon-guk Jang) announced on the 8th that it had made a strategic investment in Planetarium Labs, a community-based web 3.0 game company.
Wemade is focusing on expanding its own blockchain platform Wemix ecosystem by launching its own mainnet, Wemix 3.0 testnet, and investing in various domestic and foreign blockchain companies and projects.
Planetarium Labs provides a Libplanet-based Web 3.0 game ecosystem implementation toolkit to game developers, helping them develop server-less games.
By configuring a unique network and protocol for each game, all users in the game can manage the game state and operate the network as node operators. Through this, users jointly operate the game and receive rewards.
‘Nine Chronicles’, an open source online RPG running on its own blockchain using Leap Planet, has created a community of over 300,000 players.
This year, Planetarium Labs plans to utilize its publishing capabilities to work closely with major game developers in the Asia-Pacific region to showcase several community-based game development and publishing activities.
Jaeseok Kim, CEO of Planetarium Labs, said, “The future of games is moving in a direction where users and communities share a vision and cooperate,” and added, “We are happy to have partners who will work together to realize the vision of a game owned and formed by the community.”
Hyun-guk Jang, CEO of Wemade, said, “Wemix 3.0, our own mainnet based on the utility coin Wemix and the 100% fully collateralized stable coin Wemix$, supports everything from games, NFT service NILE combined with DAO, and various DeFi protocols. “It will be a well-equipped ecosystem,” he said. “We are looking forward to the exciting possibilities that collaboration with Planetarium Labs will bring to the Wemix 3.0 ecosystem.”
