Kakao Entertainment’s music platform Melon is launching ‘Track Zero Alive’, a live performance program of ‘Track Zero’, an indie music revitalization project that has been in progress since April. You can reserve tickets for the first performance featuring Kim Wheul, Western Kite, and Beodung at Melon Ticket.

‘Track Zero’ is a project that widely publicizes a playlist consisting of previously unknown indie masterpieces every Thursday through the music broadcast of the same name on Melon’s main screen and Melon Station. Six expert committee members representing the domestic music industry, including pop music critics and musicians, are in charge of curation, and it is receiving a great response from music fans.

‘Track Zero Alive’ provides an opportunity to meet indie artists introduced as Track Zero in person through a total of 12 offline performances every other Thursday from the 28th of this month to December. Three to four teams will be selected for each performance, so approximately 40 teams will meet fans over the course of six months. The venues where the performance will be held are three representative live performance halls in front of Hongik University in Seoul: ‘Velozoo Hongdae’, ‘Prism Hall’, and ‘Watcha Hall’.

This is expected to be a great help not only to artists who have difficulty holding solo performances, but also to the entire indie music industry, which has suffered greatly from not being able to hold proper performances during the corona period of more than two years. In addition, Melon plans to maximize the branding effect of artists by releasing all ‘Track Zero Alive’ performance videos on Melon’s video service Melon TV and YouTube.

The first 1st and 2nd performances will feature Track Zero’s ‘Hidden Voices that Will Open Your Ears’, and the 3rd and 4th performances will feature artists who gained attention through the ’90s Born’ playlist. Kim Wheul, Western Kait, and Beodungi will appear in the first performance, and Jooyoung Lee, Jangdelai, and Song Yerin will appear in the second performance, and are expected to fill the concert hall with their unique tones and voices. Artists appearing from the 3rd and 4th episodes of ‘Here Come People from the 90s’ will be announced later.

All performances of ‘Track Zero Alive’ can be reserved through the performance/exhibition reservation service Melon Ticket app and website. The ticket price is 20,000 won for paid Melon members and 40,000 won for general members and non-members.

“Melon Track Zero is working to diversify K-POP by widely introducing indie music that is difficult to hear to the public,” said Heo Jun-hyuk, head of music business strategy partnership at Kakao Entertainment. “Now, it is accompanied by the performance program ‘Track Zero Alive.’ “We will actively support artists and fans to build a stronger musical bond.”
