My Franchise, which operates the online start-up platform Mypcha, announced that it is launching the ‘Mypcha Dark Horse Project’, a project to recruit entrepreneurs for novel brands entering the franchise market.

The brand of the first project is ‘Lambert Chicken’, which uses robots to fry chicken, and franchise entrepreneurs are being recruited until August 31st.

My Franchise was established in October 2019 with the goal of making the startup ecosystem transparent and healthy by resolving information asymmetry in the offline startup market. It provides ‘Mypecha’, a platform for franchise headquarters and prospective entrepreneurs, and has attracted investment from Naver D2SF and others. As of July 2022, there are a total of 2,600 Myepcha partner brands, the cumulative number of startup information inquiries is 570,000, and the cumulative startup inquiries are approximately 6,000.

The ‘Myepcha Dark Horse Project’ is a project that connects potential franchise brands with prospective entrepreneurs. Brands that have completed market verification through directly managed stores and are starting franchise business in earnest are selected as ‘dark horses’ and supported in recruiting franchise entrepreneurs.

This project offers advantages to both brands starting a franchise business as well as prospective entrepreneurs. Franchise brands starting a franchise business can quickly recruit store owners from Mypecha’s existing and prospective startup members. Prospective entrepreneurs considering starting a new business can check information on emerging brands and also receive various start-up support provided exclusively by Mypcha.

Through this project, Mypcha plans to discover novel brands that have received positive responses through directly managed stores and deliver systematic information about those brands. If you visit the franchise brand page within Mypcha, you can view brand information directly prepared by the franchise headquarters, franchise business transaction information disclosure form, and headquarters information at a glance. In particular, start-up costs, cost ratios, video materials, and press articles provided directly by the head office are useful data for preparing for starting a business.

The first brand introduced in the ‘Mypcha Dark Horse Project’ is ‘Lambert Chicken’, which uses a collaborative robot to deliver a consistent taste and can be operated by a single store owner. We have verified the market by operating 7 directly managed stores, and will begin recruiting our first franchisees through this project. In this project, we provide special benefits such as exemption from robot rental fees worth 36 million won for 3 years to the first franchisee, and exemption from franchise fees and training fees worth 7 million won up to the 10th contract.

Kim Jun-yong, CEO of My Franchise, said, “My Franchise has established itself as a link between potential brands and prospective entrepreneurs by resolving the information asymmetry between the franchise headquarters and members planning to start a business.” He added, “With this dark horse project, we have become a dark horse in the franchise market. “We will discover brands that will grow and connect them with prospective entrepreneurs,” he said.
