Kakao Mobility is collaborating with ChargEV, one of Korea’s largest charging service providers, to pilot the ‘Electric Vehicle Valet Charging Service’ for electric vehicle users. This pilot service is provided to visitors to Ediya Coffee Lab located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam.

Kakao Navi’s ‘Electric Vehicle Valet Charging Service’ was designed for electric vehicle drivers who are experiencing inconvenience due to the lack of infrastructure to satisfy charging demand, although the domestic electric vehicle penetration rate has recently increased by about 55% to 310,000 units as of August this year compared to the previous year. The ambition is to increase convenience of use by integrating ballet and electric vehicle charging, which have been provided as separate services, into one service.

Prior to the official launch of the service, Kakao Mobility will conduct a pilot service at the ‘Ediya Coffee Lab’ parking lot, which is operated as a 100% valet service, to secure service quality and verify user usability. The goal is to officially open the ‘Electric Vehicle Valet Charging Service’ within the year and gradually expand the parking lot to which it is applied.

To use it, register your ballet pass in Kakao Navi, enter the parking lot without a separate reservation process, and request service from a ballet driver. Through ‘Kakao T Vale’ within the Kakao Navi app, convenience functions such as ▲pre-parking request ▲automatic payment ▲electric vehicle charging and valet service integrated settlement are provided, and ▲service availability time ▲estimated amount information can also be viewed in real time.

The fee is calculated by adding the service fee to the valet and electric vehicle charging service fee. The fee for using the valet service within Ediya Coffee Lab, which is scheduled to be piloted, is 3,000 won, and the charging service can be selected between ‘Light (9,000 won)’ and ‘Standard (1,5,000 won)’ depending on the amount of charge. During the pilot operation period, 20 minutes worth of charging service and agency service will be provided free of charge to the first 500 people to encourage use.

Kakao Mobility also plans to hold a large-scale event for users of Kakao Navi’s ‘electric vehicle charging service’.

Up to 20% of the recharge amount will be provided as Kakao T Points to all service users for two months until the end of October. The accumulation rate varies depending on the charger operating institution, such as ▲charging fee (20%) ▲Ministry of Environment (15%) ▲general charging station (10%), and accumulated Kakao T points can be used for services within the Kakao T app such as taxi, valet, bike, and parking. After payment, it can be used like cash.

In addition, we are also holding a coupon event for customers who use the service for the first time. Two welcome coupons worth 5,000 won that can be used during the month of September will be provided immediately, and upon completion of using the service, two additional thank-you coupons worth 5,000 won that can be used in the month of October will be provided. The coupon can be found in the electric vehicle charging tab in the Kakao Navi app.

Ahn Gyu-jin, vice president of Kakao Mobility’s business division, said, “Kakao Mobility is continuously making efforts to realize a green mobility vision as part of ESG management,” and added, “We will continue to expand various smart services for electric vehicle drivers to improve user accessibility and convenience. “He said.
