The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Gyeonggi Innovation Center), the operating organization of the Pangyo Startup Zone, announced that it had successfully completed the ‘9th Startup 815’ IR.
‘Startup 815’ is an IR program where the Gyeonggi Innovation Center discovers companies in need of follow-up investment and actively matches fund investors in related industries. It is divided into three programs for each company level, and is held on the second, third, and last Thursday of every month. During the 8th round, follow-up meetings were held with more than 56% of participating companies, and results in attracting investment are expected in the future.
In this round, three programs ‘SEED’, ‘NEXT’, and ‘With Koc’ were run simultaneously on the 15th according to the ‘2022 Gyeonggi Startup & Art Festival (GSAF)’ schedule. GSAF is an event hosted by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center and KAIST One Club (KOC) to expand the startup ecosystem, and will run until the 23rd.
Participating in ‘SEED’ were ▲’Card Monster’ (a trading platform specializing in trading cards) ▲’Fortipeta’ (a subscription-type photo printing platform) ▲’Whocare Korea’ (‘Sinol’, a senior-only community for active seniors).
In ‘NEXT’, ▲’Icore’ (specialized company in deep learning-based materials, parts, and equipment) ▲’Movers’ (3D Animated motion solution) ▲’Fding’ (shooting brokerage platform) participated to develop the company’s business model and corresponding BM’s competitiveness was proven.
Participating companies in ‘With Koc’ include ▲’Root Sensor’ (ultraviolet sensor service independent of angle of incidence) ▲’Bestella Lab’ (specialized in smart city and autonomous driving V2I solutions) ▲’BPC’ (development of next-generation OLED technology) ▲’ Pollywick’ (developing nitrocellulose membrane for immunodiagnostics) participated and introduced its core technology and vision.
VCs include Mashup Angels, Blue Ocean Investors Association, Blue Point Partners, Smilegate Investment, Honest Ventures, Infobank (hereinafter referred to as ‘SEED’), Platinum Technology Investment, Capstone Partners, Alumni Partners, Keiran Ventures, Signite Partners, and Sol. Rare Partners (hereinafter referred to as ‘NEXT’), KAIST Youth Startup Investment Holdings, Jubilee Line, AHA Partners, and Hana Bank (hereinafter referred to as ‘With KOC’) participated. We asked in-depth questions about the core technologies, competitiveness, and scale-up strategies of the participating companies’ BMs and looked into investment possibilities.

Meanwhile, the Startup Zone is Korea’s largest startup support cluster, established in 2017 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to intensively foster promising startups in new industries, and jointly operated by the Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center.
