Neowiz Co., Ltd. signed a publishing contract with Netflix, a global entertainment streaming service, for the mobile game ‘Cat and Soup’. With this, Cats and Soup becomes the first Korean game available on Netflix.
Cats and Soup, developed by Neowiz’s subsidiary Heideer, is a healing mobile idle game that has shown steady popularity, exceeding 27 million cumulative downloads in just one year since its release.
Through this contract, Neowiz expects to meet Netflix members around the world, increase gaming competitiveness in the global market, and secure new growth engines. Furthermore, the plan is to introduce Neowiz’s various games to Netflix through a partnership between the two companies.
Cat and Soup is scheduled to arrive on Netflix in November, and will provide a service differentiated from existing in-game products by eliminating in-game advertisements and in-app purchases. Neowiz is responsible for game updates, maintenance, and repairs, while Netflix is responsible for global publishing.
Meanwhile, Netflix is presenting a variety of content ranging from series, movies, documentaries to mobile games to provide the best entertainment experience available only on Netflix. Recently, the company has been actively expanding its game portfolio by collaborating with French developer Ubisoft.
