Wemade Co., Ltd. has made a strategic investment in the Indian blockchain project ‘Shardeum’. Through this investment, we plan to pursue collaboration to grow together with Wemade’s blockchain mainnet ‘WEMIX3.0’ ecosystem and expand our business to the Indian region.

Shadium is the world’s first EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine)-based mainnet to utilize sharding technology. Sharding is a technology that divides one data into several pieces to store and verify. Through this technology, each time a node is added, processing speed (TPS) is increased and connectivity between other chains is maintained. In addition, low gas fees are maintained permanently and decentralization and security are guaranteed.

Shadium is also India’s first mainnet project. India’s largest local cryptocurrency exchange, WazirX, is led by founder Nischal Shetty and veteran crypto entrepreneur Omar Syed.

Hyunkuk Jang, CEO of Wemade, said, “We decided to make this investment considering the technology and potential of the Shadium project and the potential of the Indian market,” and added, “We will continue to partner with various companies and projects that will help the growth and development of the Wemix 3.0 ecosystem. “We plan to strengthen it,” he said.

Meanwhile, global investors such as Jane Street and Spartan Group along with Wemade jointly participated in this investment.
