LIG Nex1 will participate in ‘Indo Defense 2022’, Indonesia’s largest international defense industry exhibition, held in Jakarta for 4 days from November 2nd.
Through this exhibition, LIG Nex1 introduces export strategic products that can contribute to Indonesia’s military modernization policy, such as ▲mid-range surface-to-air guided weapon ‘Cheongung-II’ ▲anti-tank guided weapon ‘Hyungung’ ▲portable surface-to-air guided weapon ‘Shingung’. ‘Indo Defense’ has been held every other year since 2004, and this year is the 9th since the 2020 exhibition was canceled due to COVID-19, and over 550 global companies from 40 countries around the world participate.
LIG Nex1 began exporting the frequency hopping radio PRC-999K to Indonesia in 2006, and has been participating in ‘Indo Defense’, the largest comprehensive exhibition in Indonesia’s land, sea, and air fields, since 2008. In particular, it established an Indonesian office in 2013, and has focused on expanding the Southeast Asian export market by supplying a number of communication equipment and systems to Indonesian military and police agencies while supplying a common frequency communication system (TRS) in 2020.
LIG Nex1 plans to actively use this Indonesian exhibition as a venue for expansion of the Southeast Asian defense industry market based on the trust between the two countries built through local exports and the friendly cooperative relationship in the military sector.
Based on LIG Chairman Koo Bon-sang’s firm determination that ‘the answer to sustainable growth is expanding exports to overseas markets,’ LIG Nex1 started with the U.S. office in 2009, the Latin American office in 2011, the Indonesian office in 2013, the Saudi office in 2016, and the Saudi office in 2018. By sequentially opening UAE offices, we are securing experts in overseas business and operating an organization specializing in overseas exports.
In particular, LIG Nex1 succeeded in exporting Cheongung-II to the UAE, and this year alone, it participated in ‘UMEX 2022’, an unmanned and robotic exhibition held in the UAE in February, ‘WDS 2022’, a Saudi defense exhibition in March, and ‘DSA 2022’ held in Malaysia. ‘ Participated in. In April, they participated in ‘ADAS 2022’ in the Philippines, in July, they participated in ‘2022 Rim of the Pacific Exercises (RIMPAC)’, the world’s largest multinational joint maritime exercise led by the US Navy, and in August, they participated in ‘D&S 2022’, an international defense industry exhibition in Thailand, overseas.
