Nexon Co., Ltd. announced that the Nexon Foundation received the Korea International Cooperation Agency Chairman’s Award in the global sharing category at the ‘2022 Together Corporate Awards & CSR Film Festival’.
The winning work, ‘This is our Kibera’, was installed at ‘PlayBaze’, a play space for children living in the informal settlement ‘Kibera’ located in Nairobi, Kenya. This is an introduction video about it.
Since 2019, the Nexon Foundation has been conducting ‘PlayBaze’ as part of ‘Playnovation’, a brick donation project to spread creative play culture. In order to provide safe play facilities and quality play and learning opportunities that are absolutely lacking for Kenyan children, we renovated the existing public space with KDI, a non-profit urban planning and architectural design agency in Kenya, to create a dedicated space for ‘Brick’ play. did.
Kim Jeong-wook, Chairman of the Nexon Foundation, said, “It is meaningful that the project we started for children in the Kibera region can be recognized as a global CSR activity that serves as a model for domestic companies.” He added, “The Nexon Foundation will continue to spread creative play culture for children around the world.” “I will take the lead further,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nexon and the Nexon Foundation are carrying out various social contribution activities, such as expanding medical facilities and expanding the educational base for children and youth who are under the reach of our society.
