Nexon announced that ‘Maple Story M’ held a live broadcast ‘MAPLESTORY M ON AIR – PROMISE’ on the 12th ahead of the winter update.
On this day, Nexon director Kim Hyun-seung, who oversees the development of ‘Maple Story M’, and planning team leader Lee Sa-ra appeared and introduced key contents such as ▲ this winter’s update information ▲ status of fulfilling promises to users ▲ roadmap until April 2023 ▲ the first original character. In addition, they took the time to answer viewers’ questions through real-time chat, and received a great response by revealing a wealth of surprise rewards such as ‘Flame of Eternal Reincarnation’, ‘Elixir of Typhoon Growth’, and ‘Seal of Perfect Engraving’.
Director Kim Hyun-seung said about choosing ‘PROMISE’ as the title of this winter’s update for ‘Maple Story M’, “We have carried out various updates to communicate with users and keep our promises, big and small, one by one.” He added, “We will continue to keep these promises and keep true “I wanted to convey the will to be together as an adventure partner for a long time,” he said.
In this broadcast, Nexon unveiled the first original character of ‘Maple Story M’, ‘Sia Astell’, and introduced the character creation process through a making interview video of the development team who participated in the production.

‘Sia Astel’ is a wizard character who uses powerful constellation skills and appears as the guardian of the stars, who oversees the birth and death of stars. In the later story, she tells what happens to ‘Sia Astel’, who leaves her star hometown ‘Ort’ and arrives at Maple World. ‘Sia Astel’ will be updated to ‘Maple Story M’ in January next year, and a pre-generation event will be held starting on the 29th.
On the 15th, a third V Matrix skill will be added. Through this, we plan to supplement the extreme damage skills that are lacking in each occupation. In addition to adjusting the gap between occupations, we will change the skill structure to take automatic combat into account, remove complex skill activation conditions, and enhance the convenience of using charging skills.
Additionally, to support rapid growth, the required experience is shortened to level 200, and the amount of additional experience gained is expanded from the previous maximum of 250% to 300%. For new users, we plan to introduce a new dungeon, ‘Adventure Training Ground’, up to level 100 to help them settle in easily. In addition, for high-level users, we plan to increase the efficiency of some Arcane Forces, such as ‘Road of Extinction’, and increase the value of Arcane Symbols for more efficient hunting in the Arcane Force Field.

Director Kim Hyun-seung said, “We have prepared a variety of things to enjoy this winter, from skill additions to growth and content reorganization, so we ask for your interest in ‘Maple Story M.’” He also added, “Please look forward to the first original character, ‘Sia Astell,’ and the upcoming dictionary. “We hope you will participate in the creation event as well.”
Meanwhile, Nexon unveiled the ‘Maple Story M’ roadmap until April 2023 in order to provide broader information to users through broadcasting. In January, new jobs and a combat analysis system will be added, in February, high-level hunting grounds above level 230 will be expanded, and in March, the ‘Yeping Land’ event will be held, adding ‘Yeti’ and ‘Pink Bean’ as special event characters. , We plan to launch ‘Cygnus Remaster’ in April.
