Hancom Mobility (CEO Chang-yeol Lee), an affiliate of Hancom Group and a subsidiary of Hancom MDS, announced on the 25th that it signed a business agreement for the ‘IoT shared parking business’ with Seongbuk-gu on the 24th.
This agreement was concluded at the Seongbuk-gu Office with the attendance of Seongbuk-gu Mayor Lee Seung-ro and Hancom Mobility CEO Lee Chang-yeol and other key officials.
Hancom Mobility is a company that provides total solutions in the parking area by converging the parking field and the core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The goal is to build a sustainable shared parking ecosystem. As an incubator from the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center, it received support such as the Win-Win Supporters Youth Startup Program and the K-Champ Lab commercialization support program, and joined Hancom Group in 2019.
Through this agreement, Hancom Mobility IoT shared parking platform ‘Soft Parking Friends’ service will be provided to residents’ priority parking lots in Seongbuk-gu.
Soft Parking Friends is an IoT-based shared parking service that utilizes an IoT radar sensor developed by Hancom Mobility. It informs you of the number of vehicles available for parking in real time in each parking lot, and provides reservations and payment functions by time slot. It can be used cheaper than regular private parking lots.
An official from Hancom Mobility said, “We expect that this IoT shared parking service will greatly contribute to solving the parking problem in Seongbuk-gu, and we believe this is a good opportunity to prove the necessity and effectiveness of the IoT shared parking platform.” He added, “Given the regional characteristics of Seongbuk-gu, “We will actively cooperate so that the shared parking service can be established quickly.”
Hancom Mobility was selected as an IoT shared parking company in Seoul in 2019 and provides services to more than 16 autonomous districts of Seoul, including Gangnam-gu, Songpa-gu, and Jung-gu. We have signed business agreements with Jin-gu, Jung-gu, Yeonje-gu in Busan, and Buk-gu in Gwangju and are providing services.
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center is playing a role in creating a local startup ecosystem, open innovation, and investment through collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Gyeonggi Province, and KT. We will foster startups, venture companies, and small and medium-sized companies in specialized industries such as AI, ICT, and 5G.
