Kakao Mobility (CEO Ryu Geung-seon) announced on the 9th that it plans to establish a cooperation system with domestic car washing, maintenance, and used car companies and introduce the ‘My Car Management’ service on Kakao Navi.
The ‘My Car Management’ service is a vehicle management service offered to car owners who have registered their vehicles on Kakao Navi and is divided into the ‘On-site car wash and maintenance’ service and the ‘My car price inquiry/Sell my car’ service.
Kakao Mobility has 20 million users who own their own cars and use services such as navigation, parking, and designated driving within the Kakao T platform, and through the ‘My Car Management’ service, it goes beyond simply providing a smooth movement service and manages vehicles before and after movement. The plan is to expand the scope of services to other areas.
First, the on-site car washing and maintenance service of ‘Manage My Car’ includes ▲car wash specialist companies Gotcha, Bullsone, Steam Doctor, MD Auto, In-N-Out Wash, Jet Steam, Car & People, King Car Wash, and Team Wiper, and ▲vehicle maintenance company Bulls. A total of 13 companies, including One, Karang, Kazen, Cloud Nine, and AJ Carian Service, participated and signed a partnership.
The on-site car washing and maintenance service is characterized by providing a one-stop service for the entire process, from checking information about affiliated companies through the app to paying after using the service at the desired time and place. Car washing uses an eco-friendly car washing method without worrying about environmental pollution, and maintenance is limited to battery and engine oil exchange, which can be provided without location or time restrictions as it is provided as an on-site service. The service is scheduled to be launched through Kakao Navi in April.
As the paradigm of the mobility market rapidly changed to smart mobility, where all transportation consumption takes place on a platform, there was a deep thirst for building a mobile ecosystem in the offline-centered car wash and maintenance market. Kakao Mobility expects that this collaboration will create new demand and further expand the market by establishing an ecosystem for shared growth.
‘My Car Management”s car price inquiry and car selling service is operated in conjunction with K Car, the largest directly managed used car company in Korea. Users can not only check the current market price of the vehicle they own, but also sell the vehicle through a vehicle evaluation by visiting the app by applying within the app. In the future, we plan to expand the service area to provide integrated management of the vehicle life cycle, including vehicle insurance management, driving history, and service inspection information. The service is currently available through Kakao Navi.
Ahn Gyu-jin, Vice President of Kakao Mobility Business Division, said, “My car management service is meaningful in that it expands the functions and roles of the mobility platform,” and added, “By collaborating with more companies, we will provide users with convenience through innovation in the mobility platform and expand the industry’s “We will continue to seek ways to provide opportunities to expand the market by creating new demand.”
Meanwhile, Kakao Mobility plans to build a separate dedicated platform for users who own their own cars in the future and provide more diverse vehicle management services.
