■ Entrepreneurship Zone, monthly relay… The 3rd Startup 815 is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, the 30th of next month.
The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as ‘Gyeonggi Innovation Center’), the startup zone operating organization, announced on the 28th that it successfully concluded the ‘2nd Startup 815’ held at the Pangyo Startup Zone on the 27th.
Startup 815 is an investment briefing session for each field of innovative technology held monthly by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center in collaboration with the Gyeongji Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration and Gachon University. The 2nd Startup 815 was held to discover excellent startups in the bio, medical device, eco-friendly, and smart city fields and to provide a venue for practical investment linkage.
The event on this day consisted of a scale-up round for startups less than 3 to 7 years old, hosted by the Startup Zone, and a jump-up round for startups less than 3 years old, hosted by Gachon University. A total of 8 teams participated, including 2 teams from start-up zones and 6 teams from promising startups in Gyeonggi-do. Selected startups developed their investment attraction capabilities through pre-customized IR consulting.
The scale-up round includes ▲’Bioc’ (a medical data platform in which cancer patients voluntarily participate) ▲’DoAI’ (an early diagnosis system for incurable cancer using artificial intelligence) ▲’Biosplash’ (bio-retinol production using yeast fermentation) Technology) ▲’A Biotech’ (recombinant protein vegan collagen) etc. participated and introduced their core technology and vision.
The judges included ID Ventures, Wooshin Venture Investment, Union Investment Partners, K-Lun Ventures, and Idea Bridge Partners.
In the jump-up round, ▲’SG Technology’ (ultrasonic flowmeter capable of responding to smart city remote meter reading) ▲’Cedia Asia Co., Ltd.’ (electric kickboard charging station based on solar energy) ▲’Make For You’ (Internet and big data) ▲’Elephant Company’ (big data-based on-site customized building material recommendation and optimal quotation distribution platform for construction businesses) announced
North Mountain Co., Ltd., Korea Bio Investment Partners Co., Ltd., Alchemista Partners, Serpa Ventures Co., Ltd., and Kingo Spring Co., Ltd. participated as judges.
After the companies’ speeches, feedback from investment experts was provided, and follow-up networking continued for practical investment connections.
An investment company official who participated as a judge on this day said, “It was a great opportunity to meet excellent start-ups in the bio, medical device, eco-friendly, and smart city fields in one place,” and added, “I hope to meet more promising start-ups through opportunities like this in the future.” He expressed his feelings.
At the event on this day, thorough quarantine measures were carried out to respond to COVID-19, including providing hand sanitizer, checking the temperature of all visitors, and mandating the wearing of masks.
Startup Zone Startup 815 is held on the last Thursday of every month. The next event is scheduled to be held at the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center Giga Hall on the 30th of next month.
Meanwhile, the Startup Zone is Korea’s largest startup support cluster, established in 2017 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to intensively foster promising startups in new industries, and operated by the Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center.
