Kakao Enterprise is joining hands with SAP, a leading enterprise application software company, to strengthen business cooperation using new technologies such as AI and business bots.
On the 9th, the two companies signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) at SAP’s largest annual IT conference ‘SAP SAPPHIRE NOW’ with Baek Sang-yeop, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, and Lee Seong-yeol, CEO of SAP Korea in attendance, and ‘Kakao Work’. ‘, and announced business innovation cases and future cooperation plans.
SAP is a global leader in the enterprise application software market, and Kakao Enterprise is the first company in Korea to sign a BTP agreement with SAP.
First, the two companies will link the comprehensive work platform ‘Kakao Work’ with SAP’s solutions to build a digital environment where work can be done as easily as sending a message anytime, anywhere. As the non-face-to-face work environment continues, the key is to be able to handle tasks such as drafting/approval using Kakao Work anytime, anywhere.
Kakao Enterprise collaborated with SAP last February to become the first domestic collaboration tool to install SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) on Kakao Work, supporting a payment environment optimized for domestic corporate infrastructure. To this end, we have launched a variety of Kakao Work bots based on SAP BTP to help you easily handle various tasks such as notifications, inventory, purchasing, payment, and sales management.
For example, by using Kakao Work’s ‘expense processing bot’, you can quickly process everything from notification of corporate card use to payment. When an employee pays with a corporate card, the notification bot automatically sends a usage notification message. When payment request information and payment details are entered in the message, an automatic notification is sent to the person with the payment authority, and the expense processing is completed when the person with the approval authority confirms the details and approves/rejects. In addition, we plan to introduce a purchase request/approval bot that can easily handle ordering/warehousing management/quality inspection, and a sales management bot that can quickly check order documents/slip creation.
Following this mobile electronic payment system, SAP’s various business systems, including sales, purchasing, and production management systems, will be linked to Kakao Work in the future. The goal is to build a ‘digital work place’ where various corporate partners can work together within Kakao Work by linking SAP’s major solutions and third-party services.
Following the launch of the Kakao Work bot, the two companies will pioneer new business areas by combining AI technology and business platforms. Kakao Enterprise plans to provide various AI engines and technologies, including natural language processing, vision, and translation, to SAP BTP and develop conversational AI based on the Korean language. In the future, we plan to introduce conversational AI that covers not only Korean but also major Asian languages.
Baek Sang-yeop, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, said, “Kakao Enterprise seeks to strengthen our cooperative relationship with SAP to create an environment where all executives and employees can conveniently perform work anytime, anywhere.” He added, “By linking the excellent solutions provided by SAP with Kakao Work, “We will continue to strive to create a convenient and efficient business environment.”
Seong-yeol Lee, CEO of SAP Korea, said, “We aim to achieve joint innovation so that companies can maintain the best business environment even in times of crisis, and we are working to provide cloud solutions specialized for each company.” He added, “Collaborating with Kakao Enterprise. “We will provide solutions that allow companies to run their businesses well in a non-face-to-face work environment.”
