[Pangyo Tech] Kakao Mobility and KST Mobility-Conatus-Coactus signed a ‘Business Agreement for Taxi Platform Mutual Cooperation’

    – Signed the first agreement between platform taxi operators to revitalize the taxi mobility industry and cooperate for win-win cooperation

    – Establishment of a comprehensive cooperation system starting with the partnership between Macaron Taxi and Banban Taxi and the Kakao T platform

    – Platform partnership with Coactus and efforts to support employment in the taxi transportation industry for the socially disadvantaged

Kakao Mobility (CEO Geung-seon Ryu) announced on the 6th that it signed a ‘business agreement for mutual cooperation on taxi platforms’ with KST Mobility (CEO Won-jo Jeong), Conatus (CEO Ki-dong Kim), and Coactus (CEO Min-pyo Song).

This is the first place for win-win cooperation between taxi platform companies, and the purpose is to improve both the business environment and user convenience for taxi industry workers by establishing an inclusive cooperative relationship beyond competition. As a platform company, we also strive to expand our social role in contributing to the taxi industry.

First, Kakao Mobility is working with KST Mobility and Conatus to establish a long-term business model to expand the market through a platform partnership for affiliated taxi operators. This is the first case of an agreement between platform companies operating affiliated taxis within the system since the Passenger Transport Business Act was revised.

Starting with the agreement, Kakao Mobility will partner with affiliated taxi drivers belonging to ‘Macaron Taxi’ operated by KST Mobility and Conatus’ ‘Banban Taxi’ to use the ‘Kakao T Taxi’ platform. In principle, affiliated taxi drivers were only able to call affiliated taxis on platforms operated by their affiliated transportation operators, but through this platform partnership, they will also be able to make calls on the Kakao T Taxi platform.

User convenience also increases. While not affiliated with the platform, there have been cases where taxi drivers from other affiliated companies use the Kakao T Taxi platform in parallel and receive calls at the same time, or cancel Kakao T Taxi calls that have already been dispatched in order to prioritize calls provided by affiliated transportation operators. This caused inconvenience to users. Through this platform partnership, the plan is to improve user service experience by establishing the system and service quality standards necessary to perform parallel calls between each company’s platform.

Coactus seeks to improve the employment environment in the taxi industry for socially disadvantaged people, such as the hearing impaired, and to expand opportunities for drivers to perform calls. Coactus operates a ‘quiet taxi’ operated by a hearing-impaired driver.

The two companies will strengthen the options for hearing-impaired drivers within the Kakao T driver app to help hearing-impaired drivers easily make calls on the Kakao T Taxi platform. Kakao Mobility is in charge of developing solutions for options. ▲We will also jointly pursue a plan to expand revenue generation by linking Kakao T’s general taxi calling system to increase the opportunities for drivers of ‘Quiet M’, Coactus’ taxi platform, to make calls.

In addition, the company plans to expand opportunities for socially disadvantaged people to participate in economic activities by actively supporting the hiring of hearing-impaired drivers at directly managed transportation companies under TJ Partners, a subsidiary of Kakao Mobility. In the future, we plan to encourage Kakao T Blue member companies nationwide to hire hearing-impaired people and join forces in providing mobility support services for the transportation vulnerable.

Gyu-jin Ahn, Vice President of Kakao Mobility (Chief Business Officer), said, “Through this agreement, we will promote cooperation among industry players and contribute to mutual growth of the company as well as the development of the entire taxi industry.” He added, “As a platform company, the taxi industry “We will continue to seek ways to fulfill our social responsibilities that can contribute to .”
