City Sharing Platform Co., Ltd., leading the nation’s unmanned neighborhood supermarket project, announced on the 29th that it will incorporate Kakao’s simple payment service, ‘Wallet QR Code’, into the digitalization project of smart stores and smart supermarkets that the company is conducting with the government.
On this day, the city sharing platform and Kakao held a partnership agreement ceremony at ‘AISS Go24’, a Korean-style unmanned store located in Godeung-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, to load Kakao’s ‘wallet QR code’ into the city sharing platform’s product payment service.
This will not only support digital smartization for small business owners across all services, such as unmanned store access, electronic access register management, and Kakao simple payment, but also make the payment process more convenient.
City Sharing Platform has been selected as a smart technology supplier for the smart store and smart supermarket project promoted by the Small Business Market Promotion Agency under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and is in full swing with the business. Smart stores will unmanned and digitalize 20,000 stores within this year, and 4,000 smart supermarkets (800 stores per year) over the next five years.
City Sharing Platform was selected as Korea’s first AI unmanned alcohol sales technology special company in the government’s regulatory sandbox, and is currently operating Korea’s first unmanned convenience store, ‘AISS Go24’, in Godeung-dong, Seongnam-si, where alcohol can be purchased 24 hours a day.
Park Jin-seok, CEO of City Sharing Platform, said, “The business agreement with Kakao will give a big boost to the unmanned retail business in alleys across the country and the payment service for AI unmanned liquor stores, which the company is actively working on.” He added, “Above all, the company is focusing on “We have received great support in supporting smart retail technology for small business owners,” he said.
Yang Joo-il, Vice President of Kakao, said, “It is meaningful that the city sharing platform is participating in a project to support cutting-edge technology to small business owners who have had difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.” He added, “In the future, small business owners in alleyways will reduce labor and generate more profits in store management.” “We will spare no effort in providing technical support to make this possible.”
Meanwhile, through the strategic agreement with Kakao, the city sharing platform achieved a synergy effect by linking the alley supermarket digitalization project currently being promoted and the AI unmanned liquor vending machine adult authentication regulatory special project as well as the unmanned store access system and simple payment service.
