WinGD participated in the ’23rd International Shipbuilding and Marine Industry Exhibition (KORMARINE 2023)’ held at BEXCO in Busan for 4 days from October 24th (Tuesday) to 27th (Friday).
Powering merchant shipping since 1898, WinGD powers all types of deep-sea vessels around the world, including tankers and bulk carriers, car carriers, general cargo ships and container ships. WinGD continues the tradition of Sulzer diesel engines as a leading developer of low-speed gas and diesel engines.
The X-DF engine introduced by WinGD at this exhibition is a fuel flexibility product for the journey toward zero emissions, and is intended to be used by operators to reduce the climate impact. The well-established X-DF engine series provides a path from fossil fuels to carbon neutrality, with no adaptations required to bring zero fuel emissions into the mix.
X-DF2.0, already in its second generation, provides a viable and proven step towards meeting the long-term climate goals of shipowners, regulators and society. Vessels are exploring new carbon-neutral and zero-carbon fuels, and WinGD is expanding its X-DF portfolio to include and validate ammonia and methanol engines, X-DF-A and X-DF-M.
The entire X-DF portfolio sets the standard for maritime fuel flexibility by being designed for efficiency to improve fuel consumption, emissions and costs over the lifecycle of a vessel, regardless of the fuel chosen.
Meanwhile, KORMARINE 2023, co-hosted by Busan City, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Plant Association, Korea Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Industry Cooperative, Lead K Fairs Co., Ltd. and BEXCO, will feature domestic and overseas shipbuilding, offshore plant, Cutting-edge equipment and new technologies in marine energy were showcased.
