WeHada Company Co., Ltd. (CEO Yang Moon-seop) will attend the ‘7 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo’ held at COEX Hall A for three days from July 26th (Wed) to 28th (Fri). 3)’.
WeiHada Company was established in March 2020 and registered the brand ‘The Changa’ as a trademark. It is a sharing platform company that manufactures and distributes traditional food by innovating and popularizing local food. In July 3, the Imsil-gun Producers Association developed a co-brand ‘Happy Farms’, and in January 2021, ‘Doenjang Stock’ was patented, and in July of the same year, it was exported directly to K-mart in Brisbane, Australia.
‘Doenjang Stock’ to be showcased at this exhibition is Non-GMO seasoned soybean paste that can be cooked by pouring water without any other seasoning and adding vegetables and tofu. One pill that can be eaten per person is reduced to 1g, and Korean natural ingredients such as anchovies, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, and perilla powder were used, using Sunchang traditional Korean soybean paste. In addition, it contains perilla leaf, a natural preservative material, to secure product stability, and in January of last year, it obtained a technology patent.
The packaging adopts a modern packing method similar to chocolate packaging. For this reason, an official from the company said, “Traditional Korean retro K-Food products are distributed at high prices, and most of them are heavy packing products such as jars and PP. If these products are consumed several times and kept in the refrigerator for a long time, they are discarded beyond products such as rancidity and browning,” he said. We reinterpreted traditional food as Newtro K-Food so that we can enjoy it.”
Currently, WeiHada Company’s ‘Doenjang Stock’ has entered the domestic online shopping platform, and sold out at the Hanaro Mart pop-up store in Yangjae, Seoul last year for two weeks. In June of this year, it entered the National Assembly Communication Center.
Regarding exports, an official from Weihada Company said, “Starting with the K-mart promotional event in Brisbane, Australia last year, consultations with overseas buyers are continuing until the second half of 2022 and the first half of 2023. In addition, exports to the United States, Canada, and India are becoming visible,” he said. “We are developing soybean paste stock that can be distributed at room temperature. Currently, we have applied for two patents, and if completed, we expect that the export route of solid stock will increase significantly.”
Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held.
