Space F Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Byeong-hoon) will be holding the ‘7 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 26′ held at COEX Hall A for three days from July 28 (Wed) to 3 (Fri). )’.
Space F is a company that researches cell farming technology. ‘Cell Agricultural Technology’ is a technology to produce agricultural and livestock products in a laboratory using stem cell culture technology and tissue engineering technology. By using this technology, cell cultured foods for animal welfare are being developed.
In this exhibition, ‘cultured pork sausage’ is introduced. The cultured pork introduced by Space F is characterized by culturing it using muscle stem cells and fat cells of fresh meat and copying the content similarly to existing fresh meat.
An official from Space F said, “Cell-cultured food is one of the alternative protein foods, and unlike vegetable protein, insect food, and fermented protein, it has a very high similarity to fresh meat and similar nutritional content and taste.” In 2020, only a few companies in Singapore and the US in 2023 have been approved for commercialization. Although it is a food that consumers are not familiar with, I want to intuitively inform them that it can be produced with various processed foods.”
In particular, at this exhibition, it is our ambition to actively publicize that it can be used for applied products such as HMR (Home Meal Replacement).
An official said, “Currently, we used cultured pork, but we plan to introduce prototypes in various types of livestock and various types of processing in the future. “The goal is to develop delicious food that meets consumer needs by making cell cultured food using livestock species such as cows and chickens,” he said. We will do our best to grow with competitiveness.”
Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held. This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and supervised by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
