Pampro Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Byeong-ok) will hold the ‘7 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 26’ held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from Wednesday, July 28th to Friday, July 3th. )’.

Pampro is a smart livestock ICT company established in 2018 by livestock experts and IT experts. We operate a solution that measures and analyzes the body temperature and activity level of livestock in real time using IoT technology-based ear tags.

This exhibition introduces an ‘electronic coupon’ that can measure data such as a cow’s body temperature and activity level in real time every 10 minutes. The electronic tag is an earring-shaped sensor that is worn on an iron ear. It collects cow data and analyzes it through AI analysis to provide ‘Pampler Care’, a service that informs the farm owner of the cow’s health status, presence of estrus, and birth time.

It can precisely measure a cow’s body temperature within an error range of 0.1℃, and unlike existing devices that measure only body temperature or activity level, it measures both factors. Additionally, if something is wrong with the cow’s body, its body temperature changes by more than 0.5℃ and its movements become sluggish. Using electronic tags, you can check not only the change in body temperature but also the amount of activity, making it possible to detect signs of abnormalities in the cow in advance. Officials explain that this is more accurate and convenient than having the farm owner visually check the condition of the cows every morning.

A Pampro official said, “Using our solution, we can detect diseases in cattle early, reduce the mortality rate by one-tenth and double the probability of pregnancy.” He added, “It is possible to measure the body temperature of even small and medium-sized livestock, and the body temperature is measured as soon as the calf is born. “By being able to measure, we can secure data on the cow’s entire life.”

In addition, PalmPro developed the smart artificial insemination solution ‘Farm King’ and obtained domestic animal medical device certification over three years. The current artificial insemination method for cows is the rectovaginal method, which involves inserting a person’s arm into the cow’s rectum, using the fingertips to find the tube, and dropping sperm into the entrance to the uterus.

Accordingly, an official from Pampro said, “The existing artificial insemination method that relies on the experience of an artificial insemination worker causes animal abuse and low fertilization rates. In order to solve various problems, our company has installed a remote monitoring system so that even beginners can see it with their own eyes. “Through this, we have been able to replace the veterinary manpower shortage,” he said. “Using Farm King, you can monitor in real time the process of the artificial insemination device accurately reaching the entrance to the livestock’s cervix, and you can also check the location of sperm administration. “Above all, by installing a vaginal temperature measurement device, we can determine the condition of the cow’s body in real time, which can dramatically improve the early detection of disease and the success rate of artificial insemination,” he explained.

In addition, “There have been purchase requests from New Zealand since 2019. After being delayed due to COVID-19, exports began in earnest in the second half of last year. In addition, last March, we applied a calf-specific solution to Australia and are still operating it, and we plan to enter Argentina, Turkicje, Europe, and Japan by collaborating with large domestic companies,” he said. “We will supply 3 million units to Argentina by 2026.” I decided to do it. “By letting people know overseas that Korea’s livestock ICT convergence technology is excellent, we will show that we can reduce calf mortality and, in addition, reduce greenhouse gases,” he said.

Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held. This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and supervised by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
