MBiohm Therapeutics (CEO Kang Se-chan) will hold the ‘7 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising’ held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from Wednesday, July 26th to Friday, July 28th. Expo 3).

MBiome Therapeutics is a technology holding company independent of Kyunghee University’s Biomedical Research Center (BMRI). It utilizes materials such as agricultural products, their by-products, and microorganisms to provide health functional foods and functional food and beverage raw materials for each target disease desired by customers. It is a research and development company.

They have registered a number of individually recognized raw materials for various target diseases, and in particular, have succeeded in developing them as raw materials for nutritional products for the elderly by upcycling soybean by-products such as soybean meal, soybean embryo, and soy milk meal, which are discharged in large quantities, and are currently clinically verified. are preparing. MBiome Therapeutics announced that it will conduct research and development of special medical food raw materials for cancer patients through its core cancer-killing strains in the future, aiming to maintain the health of the elderly and help cancer patients recover.

At this exhibition, MBiohm Therapeutics will introduce its new health functional food products, ‘Madisera Phytogen’ and ‘I Can Do’.

Madicera Phytogen is a health functional food that helps maintain bone health and alleviate osteoporosis, and will be introduced as a product especially for women who commonly experience decreased bone density. iCanDo is a health functional food that promotes bowel movement and helps maintain health, and is considered an optimized product for patients who use wheelchairs and have relatively little exercise. All of these products are scheduled to be released in the second half of this year.

The key raw materials of the two products to be exhibited at this exhibition are fermented arrowroot concentrate powder and soy isoflavone. Significant research results have shown that kudzu extract, released as an Equal-producing strain, can prevent skin and intestinal diseases through changes in the intestinal bacterial population when ingested, and helps bone and joint health, such as increasing the proliferative ability of osteoblasts and improving bone density. . Accordingly, MBiohm Therapeutics explained that it developed the product by paying attention to these functions.

Soybean embryo extract and fermented products, which are by-products of agricultural and food processing, are materials for which non-clinical and clinical research on various physiological activities is being conducted at home and abroad. As there are clear limitations in achieving physiological effects from the isoflavones contained in soybeans through currently distributed health functional foods and foods due to their low absorption rate, MBiohm Therapeutics uses soybeans that have increased absorption and utilization in the body through a precise fermentation process. We began developing embryo fermentation products as food ingredients.

A company official said, “Our company, which has been recognized for its research and development capabilities in new functional raw materials for each target disease, is collaborating with Daesang Well Life to research and develop two new types of individually approved raw materials exclusively for health functional foods.” “In addition, the Daegu Creative Innovation Center “We are supporting the open innovation project of a large company hosted by a large company and are developing new raw materials based on precise analysis of soybean embryo and kudzu and commercializing two new products,” he added.

Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held. This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and supervised by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
