Love Marine announced that it will participate in the ‘7 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 26’ held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from July 28 (Wed) to 3 (Fri) .
Love Marine produces meal kits using Sokcho red snow crab, a local specialty of Gangwon-do, which accounts for 45% of the national production. The company explained that it is making products in consideration of fishermen and consumers, and furthermore, the marine environment.
Love Marine, which was invited to AFRO 2023 after winning the grand prize at the Youth Entrepreneurship Competition, aims to find a way to create high added value in agricultural products and primary industries, although it is based on marine products.
In this exhibition, Love Marine introduces red crab ramen milk kits and lunch boxes made with Sokcho red snow crab. Love Marine, who stated that they are using all red snow crab shells, as the saying goes, “nothing is thrown away,” is developing products and recipes that can contribute to marine by-products and food upcycling, even developing menus made with red snow crab shells. In the case of red crab ramen, the broth made only from red snow crab and a whole red snow crab are included to give a rich taste, and the red snow crab lunch box, which is cumbersome to eat and can be eaten anywhere, is popular among young people and housewives.
An official from Love Marine said, “Sokcho red snow crab has been dependent on export for 90%, but after the corona, the export road was blocked and sales were low. Therefore, we developed a meal kit menu to activate domestic demand through various red snow crab menus.”
He continued, “We are planning to make products with red snow crab shells, which are marine by-products mentioned above, and plan to hold cooking classes along with marine environment education.”
