At this exhibition, Orchid Company introduces its new brand ‘Agrim’ for the first time. ‘Agrim’ is a brand that introduces various processed foods using natural flavor ingredients and flavors extracted from domestic agricultural products without adding artificial flavors or colors. ‘Agrim’ supplies its main raw materials through direct purchases with local farmers and fishermen, and the company explains that it insists on traceable producer raw materials for all products released later.
The ‘3 types of Seasoning Salt’, which are released as the first project of the ‘Agrim’ brand, are ‘Okmi Salt’ made with Goryeong Okmi Rice as the main ingredient, ‘Wasabi Salt’ made with eco-friendly wasabi leaves from Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk, and It is composed of ‘shrimp salt’, which uses red shrimp caught as a main ingredient.
An official from Orchid Company said, “Agrim’s seasoning salt (seasoning salt) developed and produced by the Gyeongbuk Bio Industry Research Institute, which specializes in the development of useful materials using natural products and research on high value-added resources of local agricultural products, is made of local agricultural products. It was developed by extracting and blending the derived natural flavor components,” he said. “As a result of introducing a strict process for each raw material and product to maximize the unique flavor of each raw material without artificial flavoring, it is characterized by a rich flavor and natural umami. ”he explained.
In particular, the non-salty Aegrim Seasoning Salt, which is designed to be paired with various dishes, is packaged in a small, airtight glass container that can be enjoyed conveniently, allowing the flavor to be maintained and stored for a longer period of time.
This new seasoning salt was selected as a product of ‘small and medium-sized enterprises promising to enter the global market’ by the Korea Food Industry Cluster Promotion Agency last June, and participated in a tasting fair inviting domestic and foreign consumers and food export experts from 6 countries. Regarding this, an official said, “‘Okmi Salt’ achieved the best evaluation in the consumer evaluation conducted by 17 Koreans and foreigners. Along with the evaluation that ‘the packaging and taste are attractive’, it was found that there is a high possibility of exporting to the European market.”
It was also selected as an excellent item by winning the Capstone Design Contest hosted by the Gyeongbuk Bio Industry Research Institute.
Orchid Company also announced plans to launch new products with various flavors. An official said, “Some products have already been developed, and there are more than 10 products under development. In addition to seasoning in powder form, we are also preparing sauce products in liquid form, so please look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held. This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and supervised by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
