Nuri Science participated in the ‘Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 7’ held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from July 26 (Wed) to 28 (Fri).
Nuri Science is a bio venture company that develops new bio products using advanced immunological technologies from animals to humans. It has developed livestock bio-sex control products such as cattle and pigs, and started exporting them to the world market. In addition, it has developed a companion animal protein treatment that combines high efficacy and safety.
The selective cow/hydrogen production sex control product introduced at this exhibition is a semen additive, and it is stable because it is 100% protein and binds to the sperm envelope, the official explained.
An official from Nuri Science said, “With over 90% sex control efficiency, we can produce the desired cow or bull. Through the addition of semen, X sperm, which are only found in females, can be coagulated to inhibit free movement, thereby promoting cow production. It has been commercialized since 2017, and there are many needs for cow production, and hydrogen can also be produced.”
It is known that the conception rate is the same as that of normal semen because the total number of sperm is the same without affecting sperm viability. For cow-produced products, sufficient aggregation of Y sperm is important, so the reaction time must be 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held. This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and supervised by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
