Herbiaera Korea participated in the ‘Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 7’ held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from July 26 (Wed) to 28 (Fri) did.

HerbiaEra (hereafter referred to as HerbiaEra) is a Canadian and Korean agricultural company with state-of-the-art indoor horticulture solutions. With the goal of simplifying and optimizing cultivation and enabling the next generation of sustainable growing media for plants, the company introduced a soil-based substrate.

Due to the fixing material made of biomaterials harmless to the human body and the environment, it has the characteristic of maintaining hard properties even when wet with water. Due to these properties, mechanization can be introduced, and it is intended to reduce environmental impact while increasing crop productivity. It is also an advantage that it is not limited to one crop and provides a wide crop variety.

The Canadian medium containing biodegradable materials, which was introduced as the main focus at this exhibition, is fixed when water is added to the soil, which has the effect of promoting growth.

An official from HerbiaEra said, “You can put the sprouts in a medium manufactured and produced in Canada, and when they germinate, transfer them and plant them. Compared to existing sponge waste materials, biodegradable materials are used to prevent diseases and pests and have the advantage of smooth water drainage.”

It is possible to operate a smart farm by purchasing in bulk from an indoor factory, and it can be used for home use, so 100 seedlings can be planted in a plate. Through five years of research and development, it is possible to plant and grow seedlings such as cucumbers and vegetables at home.
