Art Lab (CEO Taewoong Eom) participated in ‘8 InterCHARM Korea’ held at COEX, Seoul for a total of 30 days from Wednesday, August 9th to Friday, September 1st.

Art Lab is a startup that proposes solutions to resolve inconveniences in everyday life through the foundational technologies of the 4th industrial revolution, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. We are focusing on providing innovation.

Regarding this, Taewoong Eom, CEO of Art Lab, said, “The social problems that most startups pay attention to and the solutions that arise from them tend to focus on food, clothing, and shelter.” He added, “However, humans have had a strong desire to be beautiful since ancient times, and there is a market for that. At this exhibition, Art Lab introduced its AI-based beauty solution, ‘SkinChat’, to visitors. This solution, which is provided in the form of a mobile application (app), takes a photo of an individual’s skin with the user’s smartphone camera, and the app analyzes the user’s skin condition through the photo and recommends appropriate improvement methods and cosmetics.

In addition, the company explains that it has also gone through an optimization process to exclude the occurrence of hallucination (a phenomenon in which AI chatbots give false answers), which is unique to the GPT engine.

In addition, Art Lab’s investment company, Cosmax, the No. 1 ODM in the global beauty market, and Naver, which has a vast shopping channel, provide recommended product databases for users, and Amore Pacific, which collaborated with Art Lab last year in the field of AI beauty solutions, also provides Skin Chat recommendation data. It is reported that is collaborating to increase abundance.

SkinChat, which was launched in the global market last April, is receiving a warm response in Southwest Asia, including India and Pakistan, and Art Lab plans to further expand its influence in the regional market starting with its participation in Intercharm Korea this year.

Taewoong Eom, CEO of Art Lab, said, “Through this exhibition, we wanted to meet many domestic and foreign cosmetics brands. “We believe that our Skin Chat can play a role in increasing consumers’ trust in each brand’s cosmetics through a scientific approach and at the same time increasing the size of the overall market,” he said. “We are currently in active contact with investment companies and customer companies located in India. “I hope there will be good results,” he said.

He continued, “After advancing into a wider market, we ultimately hope to create a world where all cosmetics brands and online malls provide personalized experiences to consumers based on AI. “ArtLab’s technology and software will be at the center of it all,” he said, expressing his ambition.
