The ‘2023 International Safety and Health Exhibition’, hosted by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and organized by the Korea Safety Protection Equipment Association, was held in Halls 7 and 3 of KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2 on Monday, July 7.
With the virtual end of the COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face marketing for companies, which had shrunk, is expected to be revitalized, and accordingly, this exhibition was expanded in size from the previous year to about 220 companies and 800 booths.
This exhibition, which will run for a total of 6 days until Thursday the 4th, adds smart safety using the latest IT technologies such as IoT, big data, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing to existing exhibition items, allowing visitors to participate in manufacturing, construction, and transportation. It is expected that visitors will be able to take a look at the latest safety and health technologies and products being used in various industries, including energy and medical care.
SK Telecom, one of Korea’s leading communications companies, will participate in the exhibition for the first time this year and demonstrate safety programs and products incorporating the latest communications technology. In addition, POSCO DX will also participate in the exhibition for the first time and operate a promotional center to introduce POSCO’s latest safety and health technologies to visitors.
In addition, the Occupational Safety and Health Agency operates the existing safety and health promotion center separately by theme, such as policy, experience, consultation, and technology, to provide visitors with more diverse experience opportunities and effective information.
Social interest in safety and health is increasing due to the implementation of the Severe Accident Punishment Act and corporate ESG management. With the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, visits to the exhibition by workplace safety and health managers who have refrained from external activities are expected to increase significantly, and approximately 4 visitors are expected to visit the exhibition hall over four days.
In addition, in order to enable domestic safety and health product manufacturing companies to enter and expand overseas markets, this year, for the first time, about 30 buyers will be invited and an export consultation session will be held with participating companies. After analyzing the performance, the event is planned to be held regularly every year.
This exhibition, held as part of the ‘2023 Occupational Safety and Health Month’, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and boasts the longest history in the domestic occupational safety and health field. During the exhibition period, various events were held on the third floor of the exhibition hall where visitors could see and feel safety and health firsthand, such as various seminars prepared by safety and health-related organizations and presentation contests on best safety and health practices implemented by each company.
An official from the exhibition secretariat said, “It will be the optimal business opportunity for safety industry companies that have had difficulty developing sales channels due to COVID-19.” He added, “This exhibition will be a stage where we can confirm the excellence of the latest safety and health products and contribute to the prevention of industrial accidents.” “I will do my best,” he said.
