iFix Medi Co., Ltd. (CEO Moon Jeong-sim) announced that it participated in the ‘7 Korea International Safety & Health Show (KISS 3)’ held at KINTEX in Goyang from July 6rd (Monday) to 2023th (Thursday).

iFix Medi has grown since 1992 by developing and selling fashion knit yarn, and has been focusing on the field of functional textiles by manufacturing and supplying knitwear and developing antibacterial processing agents for textiles. In addition, the company entered the B2C market based on its patent for stockings for pregnant women and women with hyperhidrosis, and recently succeeded in developing carbon fiber yarn, aiming to enter the global market by developing various products targeting fire-related industries. .

This exhibition mainly introduced knitwear for firefighters who extinguish fires. Carbon fiber used in knitwear is similar to the properties of charcoal and is known to have excellent heat resistance as well as antibacterial and deodorizing properties. It is a fiber suitable for human-friendly innerwear.

An iFix Medi official said, “Carbon fiber has been developed for a long time, but it has been mainly used as felt, and there were limitations to the items it can be used for. “The spinning yarn that our company has successfully developed can be supplied from 10 to 30 counts,” he explained.

As for the results to date, samples have been provided to about 50 places domestically, 3 places in the United States, and 2 places in Russia. Representative examples include insulation materials used in the floor sheets of electric vehicles and aprons for shipbuilding and steel industry officials who were provided as samples. In addition, at the 2019 Busan International Shipbuilding and Marine Festival, the company participated in the startup contest and received the grand prize.

An official said, “Among the many industries that require heat resistance, we learned through a survey of firefighters that they were most afraid of skin burns on the face, neck, and arms. However, we learned that there is no separate innerwear item among firefighting clothing.” “I came here to introduce knitwear that they can wear and work in,” he explained the background to his participation in the exhibition.

He continued, “Currently, we have mainly developed yarn spun with 100% carbonized fiber, but in the future, we plan to introduce a variety of yarns that can complement the shortcomings of 100% carbonized fiber through blending with aramid fiber.” He added, “100% carbonized fiber is “It has excellent heat resistance, but has some shortcomings in strength and durability, so we plan to service new products so that we can develop products that can supplement strength and durability even if heat resistance is slightly lower.”
