HJ Co., Ltd. participated in the ‘7 Korea International Safety & Health Show (KISS 3)’ held at KINTEX in Goyang from Monday, July 6 to Thursday, July 2023.
Established in 1996, HJ is a company that manufactures and sells retroreflectors. HJ’s retroreflective products are made by applying fine glass beads onto aramid, T/C fabric or hot melt and then metal deposition. Retroreflective materials are used to ensure the safety of workers working in industrial sites by reflecting light in dark environments, and are widely used even outdoors where safety features are required.
The official explains that as a result of steadily increasing overseas market share by exporting to more than 40 countries including Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, China, and Southeast Asia, the company has significantly expanded its market share in Europe and America. Thanks to these achievements, we aim to increase our market share in the retroreflective field even in the domestic market, where awareness is lower than overseas.
HJ’s main products include retroreflectors for industrial safety (special fire protection suits, general work clothes, cleaning clothes, etc.) and retroreflectors for fashion (outdoor and apparel). Among these, the car license plate film developed using retroreflective manufacturing technology was introduced for the first time at this exhibition and attracted attention.
Currently, HJ retroreflective products are used in special fire protection suits worn by domestic firefighters, and HJ products have also been applied to European industrial work clothes for 20 years. Regarding this, a HJ official said, “Domestic special fire-fighting clothing is at the level of advanced countries, but there are no safety standards for quality certification. “In countries such as the United States and Europe, regulations on industrial safety products are very strict, and we are producing and exporting products that meet all these standards,” he explained.
In addition, the retroreflective car license plate retroreflective film, which applies the principle of retroreflection, has higher visibility at night than existing license plates and is effective in preventing forgery and tampering, so it is highly effective in preventing traffic accidents at night. It is said to be effective in maintaining the driving distance from the car in front, preventing collisions while parked on the shoulder, and preventing safety accidents in areas with inadequate street lighting, such as mountainous areas. It is known that most countries around the world, including OECD, have adopted it and been using it for a long time, as it has many proven excellent effects compared to the paint method.
Through consistent research and development and quality management, HJ has achieved achievements such as obtaining EN471 certification for retroreflective sheets, being selected as a promising small and medium business in Gyeonggi-do, obtaining EN ISO 20471 certification, being selected as a ‘world-class product’ by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and achieving the $3 million export tower. There is a bar. It was also emphasized that it possesses industrial retroreflective manufacturing capabilities and was the first in Korea to obtain eco-friendly (Global Recycle Standard) retroreflective certification.

He continued, “The green corporate vehicle license plate retroreflective film is being tested for quality and performance and is scheduled to be released within this year.” He added, “In addition to obtaining eco-friendly (Global Recycle Standard) retroreflective certification, our company has acquired Okeo-Tex, REACH, and California Statute 65.
