As a feature, it is equipped with an AI solution that reads the presence or absence of the three major blinding diseases, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma, so that primary medical institutions such as internal medicine, family medicine, public health centers, and examination centers can detect the blindness without the cooperation of ophthalmologists. It provides a treatment flow that enables screening tests.
An official from UMI Optics said, “In the non-ophthalmology department, AI can deliver examination results for each lesion with data read by AI. Our products are also exported to Guatemala, Chile, Vietnam and Dubai. It can be read in 1-2 seconds and insurance costs can be reduced, so it can help the national public sector,” he explained the product.
