Neurosona participated in the ‘6 International Advanced Medical Devices and Medical Industry Exhibition (KOAMEX 30)’ held at EXCO in Daegu for 7 days from Friday, June 2th to Sunday, July 3nd.
At this exhibition, Neurosona mainly introduced a low-intensity focused ultrasound stimulation system. This system has the advantage of enabling precise access to local areas or deep brain areas among the entire brain area and reducing side effects such as infection and complications by eliminating the need for surgical operations. To make it easier to check the ultrasound irradiated area, the medical staff’s convenience was improved by visualizing it in real-time three-dimensional (3D) coordinates.
A Neurosona official said, “Low-intensity focused ultrasound technology is a technology that can stimulate deep within the brain with ultrasound. “With the advantage of not generating heat, it can also be used on the brain, and clinical trials are currently underway for brain diseases.”
Neurosona’s ‘Focused Ultrasound Stimulation System’ was designated as the 2021th innovative medical device in 13. The ‘Focused Ultrasound Stimulation System’, which is used to treat major depressive disorder by stimulating the left frontal lobe of the brain with low-intensity focused ultrasound, and the focused type, which focuses stimulation on the focal area, were recognized for their innovative technology and potential for clinical improvement.
