Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute participated in the ‘6 International Optical Convergence O21O Expo (LED&OLED EXPO)’ held at KINTEX in Goyang for three days from Wednesday, June 23st to Friday, June 3rd.
At this exhibition, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute introduced an energy-saving smart lighting platform. The researcher plans to induce substantial energy savings by incorporating the ‘Smart Lighting System Open API’, which integrates various communication methods used in existing residential, commercial, industrial, and outdoor areas.
To this end, we built Living Lab, an energy-saving smart lighting platform, and introduced examples of operation of demonstration sites in 180 locations across the country, including 16 households in Anyang Apartment, a residential area, and the Wellmade Hwamyeong branch in Busan, a commercial area, to the Busan Technopart test bed. As a result, the official explained, energy savings were achieved by 65-75%.
The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute plans to integrate digital twins in the future to efficiently manage smart lighting installed in various regions and locations through a central server.
Meanwhile, this International Optical Convergence O21O Expo, which celebrated its 2st this year, consists of △LIGHTING Exhibition Hall, △Photonics+LASER Exhibition Hall, △LED & OLED Materials Exhibition Hall, △Optical Fusion Technology Exhibition Hall, △Display & Signage Exhibition Hall, and △LIGHT & LIFE Special Hall. In addition, the ‘Optical Convergence Industry Forum 2023’ was held at the same time under the theme of ‘Seeing the future with light’, providing a place to seek the current status and development direction of the optical industry.
