    Korea Photonics Institute participated in the ‘6 International Optical Convergence O21O Expo (LED&OLED EXPO)’ held at KINTEX in Goyang for three days from Wednesday, June 23st to Friday, June 3rd.

    The Korea Photonics Institute, which opened in 2001, is a production technology research center specializing in optical technology under the ‘Industrial Technology Innovation Promotion Act’. It has been researching sources of light such as LED, LASER, SENSOR, and LENS, and has been researching energy, environment, healthcare, and autonomous vehicles. · We have been leading the mining industry market and technology through research and development for various uses of light, including ICT convergence, display, and defense, and technical support for small and medium-sized companies.

    At this exhibition, the ‘MicroLED Cube Display’ technology was introduced. This technology is a cube-shaped display that can configure the existing micro LED display into various forms, from a minimum of 10 cm to an ultra-large display. It can be configured not only in three-dimensional form but also in a stacked form, allowing application design according to the installation purpose.

    In particular, separate images can be implemented for each cubic display, and content can be operated through real-time control through various communication networks such as LAN Zigbee and wifi. In addition, it supports power consumption that is more than 50% lower than existing transparent displays, as well as low warpage and high transparency.

    Meanwhile, this International Optical Convergence O21O Expo, which celebrated its 2st this year, consists of △LIGHTING Exhibition Hall, △Photonics+LASER Exhibition Hall, △LED & OLED Materials Exhibition Hall, △Optical Fusion Technology Exhibition Hall, △Display & Signage Exhibition Hall, and △LIGHT & LIFE Special Hall. In addition, the ‘Optical Convergence Industry Forum 2023’ was held at the same time under the theme of ‘Seeing the future with light’, providing a place to seek the current status and development direction of the optical industry.
