KTE (CEO Koo Bon-seung, hereinafter referred to as KTE) announced that it will participate in the ‘6th International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX 7)’ held at the 9st exhibition center in BEXCO, Busan from June 1 (Wed) to 13 (Fri).
Established in 1979, KTE Co., Ltd. is a specialized manufacturer of electrical components and control systems for ships for the past 45 years. In addition, starting with PKM in 1980, it has been manufacturing and supplying switchboards for ships to date. Its main production items are main switchboard, distribution board, bow and stern propellers, etc. Recently, it has been developing, manufacturing, and supplying most of the electrical components for submarines by localization.
In the future, based on the experience in developing the localization of equipment mounted on submersible ships and the performance of ECS (integrated engine control system) maintenance and repair of surface ships, the ship mounted equipment maintenance business is also planned to be expanded step by step.
The main products to be introduced at this exhibition include surface ship-related switchboards, bow and stern propellers, ECS maintenance and repair, and IPMS (Integrated Platform Management System), power converters, fuel cell control panels, and Yanggang mast control panels for submarines. . As for the advantages, it is possible to respond quickly to follow-up logistics support with a localized development product, and it is possible to optimize maintenance period and maintenance cost.
A KTE official explained, “In the case of IPMS and power converters, we developed localization to resolve inconveniences such as follow-up logistical support for products exclusively supplied by foreign companies.”
The purpose of participating in MADEX 2023 was also revealed. A person in charge said, “Based on the technology for electrical equipment for ships secured for a long time after establishment and the localization experience such as IPMS delivered to the Jang Bogo-III submarine, we have the technology to promote the localization of equipment mounted on major ships. I was able to participate in the exhibition,” he said.
“We delivered to three Jang Bogo-III ships and are continuing to deliver. We plan to find, develop and supply products that can be manufactured in-house to maximize the combat power of the Republic of Korea Navy in the future without being complacent.”
