Seazone (CEO Shin Yong-joo) announced that it will participate in the ‘6th International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX 7)’ held at Busan BEXCO Exhibition Center 9 from June 1th (Wed) to 13th (Fri).
Established in 1997, Seazone Co., Ltd. produces and supplies Foam Filled Fender (Marine Fender), an insect repellent for ports used for safe berthing of ships.
Foam Filled Fender is a special item capable of insect repellent function that protects the hull and quay wall docked or moored at the pier. It is known that many foam filled fenders are applied to aging quay walls or new piers around the world, and the demand is increasing day by day. In particular, as a Navy Fender, it is widely used and supplied by the US Navy as well as the Republic of Korea Navy. Seazone explained that the completeness and durability of the product were improved with the proprietary technology of the 4-axis winding process, and that there is a big difference from other companies’ product technology. It has international competitiveness as its excellence in use quality has been verified by leading domestic and foreign ship manufacturers, port management companies, and related companies.
A Seazone official said, “Domestic ports are being reborn as logistics hubs in Northeast Asia, and we are responding to the increasing volume of goods transported through the continuous establishment, reinforcement, and expansion of port facilities. The importance of safe berthing facilities should be emphasized even more as ships become larger and the number of berthing is frequent, but it is still supplied in a vulnerable state without improvement and easily damaged.” We aim to contribute to the development of ports by supplying improved and durable products. By localizing and supplying Foam Filled Fender, we are expanding the range of choices, substituting imports, and pioneering overseas markets.”
“Foam Filled Fender is widely applied and supplied as a docking facility material for the Navy and Coast Guard piers. The quality of the product is high enough to be supplied to the US Navy, but it has not yet been applied to overseas navies such as the Middle East and Oceania.” I want to have a technical meeting with it,” he explained the background of his participation.
Since the domestic fender industry relies on imports from China and the United States, the main purpose of participating in the exhibition is to provide a high-quality, low-cost alternative to imported fenders as a Korean Foam Filled Fender manufacturer, as well as to develop a market that can supply them to overseas markets. that it is.

Seazone’s Foam Filled Fender is currently being applied and supplied to various ports in addition to domestic and overseas shipyards and navies (US Navy, etc.), and responding to berthing facility design requests and demands in overseas markets. It is expected that export channels will increase in the future as it is participating in overseas national pier design projects as well as existing customers such as the Singapore Shipyard and the Indian Navy. This year, as an overseas project, it supplied a large amount of Foam Filled Fender to the US Guam Naval Base, and is also participating in the design of the Singapore naval pier. As a domestic project, we delivered a foam filled fender of Φ4,500X7,000L standard to a shipyard.
There are two floating types of insect repellents for ports, Foam Filled Fender and Pneumatic Fender, and the material, structure, and compression mechanism are very different. As a fender function required in the shipyard/navy, compression recovery rate, low reaction force and high energy absorption are the most important. In response, a Seazone official said, “We are developing a Hybrid-Foam Filled Fender manufactured by adding a new manufacturing process by combining the advantages of a pneumatic fender with a fast recovery rate while maintaining the advantages of the existing foam filled fender. We applied for a patent last year, completed the production of prototypes, and are currently collecting product performance data, so we plan to enter the mass production stage as soon as possible.”
