ELROILAB (CEO Yoo Kwang-seon) announced that it will participate in the ‘5 Seoul International Food Industry Show (SEOUL FOOD 30)’ to be held at KINTEX, Goyang for 6 days from May 2th (Tue) to June 4nd (Fri).

Elroy Lab is a startup founded in 2020 that provides a total solution for automatic foreign body inspection that combines hyperspectral and deep learning technologies.

The hyperspectral AI foreign substance sorter (SPECTRAL AI), which is exhibited at this exhibition, is the first commercialized service of ELROILAB. It is the explanation of the officials. Although the sorter was relatively neglected in the machine vision market, it was developed under the judgment that there was a need in the food manufacturing market, which is directly related to consumer safety.

Yellow Lab said, “Existing X-Ray or metal detectors had limitations on the types of foreign objects that could be screened. In addition, the optical sorter could not detect a foreign material with a similar color and shape to the original material,” he said. It is evaluated as a new technology that completely replaces the existing foreign material screening technology by learning and detecting it.” It proved its technological prowess by winning in the food tech field of the Seoul Food Awards 2023 for companies participating in the exhibition.

Kwang-Seon Yoo, CEO of Yellow Lab, has been in charge of research and development in various manufacturing fields for 10 years. While studying artificial intelligence, he was convinced that a new machine vision market could be created if hyperspectral technology and artificial intelligence, which were previously development tasks, were combined.

In addition, Yellow Lab received investment from CJ in the Pre-A investment round and is reviewing the introduction of equipment in the plant. In addition, it has signed sales contracts with two large food manufacturing companies and delivered one unit last year. It is aiming for sales of 2 billion won this year and has already achieved its goal of 1 billion won in the first half of the year.

A company official said, “We are currently in the review stage for introduction with about 30 food manufacturing companies, and in addition to this, various industries such as displays, secondary batteries, and pharmaceuticals have been requesting the introduction of solutions using hyperspectral AI.” The first goal is to apply it to more diverse food groups.”

“Due to the nature of food, the shape and characteristics of raw materials are very diverse, so it is necessary to think a lot about the method of input and removal of foreign substances. In addition, we plan to improve it so that it can detect even small foreign objects of 1 mm or less,” he said.

Meanwhile, the ‘2023 Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition’ hosted by KOTRA will strengthen exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign food industry-related companies, and provide a conference to discuss domestic and international food trends and insights, and various programs to expand business networks. done. A variety of companies and contents, including domestic and foreign food-related companies, as well as food equipment, food packaging, and safety equipment related to food safety, as well as hotels and restaurants, are introduced.
