Daesung Smart Hive (CEO Jeong Hyeok, hereinafter referred to as Daesung) participated in CES 1, the world’s largest home appliance and IT expo, held in Las Vegas, USA from January 5th to 8th (local time).

Daesung received favorable reviews for introducing differentiated and innovative beekeeping products through this exhibition, and announced on the 19th that it confirmed its competitiveness in the global market by conducting collaboration discussions with a number of overseas companies.

At CES 2023, Daesung introduced △smart beekeeping sensor, △plasma ozone sterilization beekeeping storage, △automatic desealing machine, and △wasp trap, and attracted the attention of buyers from the United States, Spain, and Korea as well as global visitors.

Daesung’s smart beekeeping sensor provides measurement and tracking of the internal environment of the bee hive through electronic control, water supply through an application (waterer compatible), and temperature and humidity control functions within the management range. The smart beekeeping system provides an integrated beekeeping environment. It is a smart beekeeping device that manages. In addition, it is equipped with functions such as heating function, air circulation within the hive, entrance control, and food distribution, so it can be used according to each beekeeping environment and situation. Convenient specifications, such as smooth temperature control, will ease the hassle of beekeepers. I had high expectations for the product.

The automatic desealing machine, which was also introduced, is a portable beekeeping robot that removes beehives from the hive and safely removes the bees, and is also equipped with an external loading function. Daesung explains that by making it from lightweight materials, the weight has been reduced so much that even beekeepers with weak muscles can lift it with one hand, and that it can be conveniently used outdoors.

The plasma ozone sterilization beekeeping storage was introduced as an eco-friendly technology product that greatly increased the effectiveness of sterilization, disinfection, and odor removal. During the beekeeping process, contaminated objects are stored inside the storage room to sterilize and disinfect bacteria, viruses, and harmful substances, thereby being effective in removing bacteria and killing insects. As the product operates, it can consistently produce uniform effects such as removing bad odors and purifying the air, so it can be used not only in beekeeping farms, but also in livestock farms such as pig houses, chicken houses, cattle sheds, and fertilizer compost farms.

The wasp trap was selected as an eco-friendly ESG product that does not use separate attractants such as fermentation liquid. While existing attractant-type wasp traps failed to selectively attract wasps, threatening the nearby insect ecosystem, Daesung’s wasp trap is different in that it takes advantage of the wasp’s habit of following bees when installed at the entrance of a beehive. Wasps that enter the trap are trapped in the trap due to their habits, and bees are designed to safely and freely find their way into the hive through the bee passage. This product can dramatically reduce the need to remove wasps directly from the apiary, thereby reducing costs for labor and other pest control products.

Daesung CEO Jeong Hyeok said, “We used this year’s CES as an opportunity to clearly promote the Daesung Smart Hive product line to the world. Thanks to the interest of visitors and buyers who actually saw the products, we gained confidence in our product competitiveness and are leading domestic beekeeping technology.” “As a company that does this, our goal is to establish ourselves in the global market this year.”

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
