In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has threatened the world in recent years, vaccine supply and vaccine sovereignty have become important to protect our lives and health. At the Bio Korea 2023 Vaccine Conference, global vaccine supply and vaccine development We look at the cooperation plan for vaccine research and development in Korea and cases, and seek the utilization strategy and development direction of the industry.
In order to respond to future pandemics and lead the vaccine industry, it was jointly planned with the Vaccine Commercialization Technology Development Project Group (Director Seong Baek-rin) and the New Variant Infectious Disease mRNA Vaccine Project Group (Director Ki-jong Hong). and to discuss future strategies.
In the first session, under the theme of ‘Global Vaccine Supply Chain and Innovative Vaccine R&D Cooperation,’ major vaccine experts from international organizations will listen to their experiences and opinions on vaccine supply and vaccine technology development cooperation. In this session, ▲Rajinder Kumar Suri, DCVMN CEO, ▲Alfred Luitjens, Batavia biosciences, ▲Yoon In-kyu, CEPI director, and ▲Peter kwong, NIH, etc. will review the experiences and know-how of global vaccine experts.
In the second session, ‘Case of Innovative Vaccine Technology for Global Cooperation’ was presented, and ▲Fosvacs, ▲Curatis, ▲UBiologics, ▲Cha Vaccine Research Institute, ▲I-Gene, and ▲Quad Medicine were presented. It is an opportunity to share innovative technologies and seek international cooperation with major global vaccine experts.
In the third session, ▲International Vaccine Research Institute, ▲Vaccine Commercialization Technology Development Project Group, ▲Global Vaccine Technology Leading Project Group, and ▲Victoria State Government of Australia conducted national vaccine research and development under the theme of ‘Global Vaccine Supply and Current Status and Future of Vaccine R&D in Korea’. View the current status of vaccine research by government agencies and discuss strategies for future cooperation.
Director Kim Yong-woo of the Korea Development Institute said, “Everyone has been able to feel the importance of vaccine supply, development, and production in the COVID-19 pandemic, and at this vaccine conference, we sought international cooperation plans and strategies to respond to future pandemics in order to secure vaccine sovereignty. I hope it will be a meaningful place to do it.”
