The Canadian Embassy in Korea announced that it will participate in ‘BIO KOREA 5 (Bio Korea 10)’, which will be held at COEX in Seoul for three days from Wednesday, May 12th to Friday, May 3th.

The Commercial Affairs Department of the Canadian Embassy in Korea, part of the Canadian Federal Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, provides Canadian companies with Korean market information, verified Korean company information, business cooperation opportunities, and advice on entering overseas markets. It also plays a role in supporting the creation of new business opportunities and strengthening cooperation between the two countries, such as providing Korean companies with opportunities to cooperate with Canadian companies, information on related events, and support for investment and entry into Canada.

In particular, this year is a meaningful year in which Korea and Canada celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, and it is expected that Canadian companies will be able to interact more actively with Korean companies through this exhibition.

An embassy official said, “Canada, the world’s 9th largest pharmaceutical and bio market, has over 1,000 bio companies operating, the second largest number in the world. In particular, AI-based pharmaceutical and bio companies are active, and they also have strengths in fields such as precision medicine, anticancer and antibody medicines, and cell therapy.”

He continued, “The Commercial Affairs Department of the Canadian Embassy in Korea organizes a Canadian trade mission every year to support the creation of cooperation opportunities and networking between Korean and Canadian companies. Through this, the number of cases of various Canadian companies entering into successful partnerships with Korean companies is increasing, and in addition to licensing in/out, joint R&D cooperation is taking place,” he said. “We will continue to help innovative Canadian companies advance into Korea.” “We will promote active cooperation between the two countries by supporting Korean companies that wish to cooperate with Canadian companies,” he said.
