‘2023 ICPI Week (International Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Week)’, which covers the entire supply chain from pharmaceutical and cosmetic development to manufacturing and distribution, was held on April 4th, hosted by a contest exhibition and organized by KY Expo. It was successfully held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do for 18 days from Tuesday (Tuesday) to Friday the 21st (Friday).
The characteristic of this exhibition was that the ecosystem that makes up the supply chain for development and manufacturing of the market could be seen in one place. Accordingly, this exhibition introduced products and technologies for ▲design and development of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and cosmetics ▲laboratory science ▲production process and packaging ▲cold chain and logistics technology, and the organizer prepared 7 specialized pavilions to suit the purposes of visitors. .
The 2023 ICPI Week exhibitions are largely ▲International Pharmaceutical and Bio Industry Exhibition (KOREA PHARM & BIO) ▲International Cosmetic Raw Materials and Technology Exhibition (CI KOREA) ▲International Research, Experiment and Analysis Equipment Exhibition (KOREA LAB) ▲International Chemical Equipment Industry Exhibition (KOREA CHEM) It consists of ▲International Pharmaceutical, Bio, and Cosmetic Technology Exhibition (COPHEX) ▲International Logistics Industry Exhibition (KOREA MAT) ▲International Cold Chain Industry Exhibition (KOREA COLD CHAIN).
Among these, the 13th International Logistics Industry Exhibition (Korea Mat 2023), the largest exhibition in the logistics and distribution field in Korea, and ▲the 1st International Cold Chain Industry Exhibition (Korea Cold Chain 2023) will showcase the logistics industry, which has grown significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic. I was able to see industry trends at a glance. All key items in the logistics industry, including logistics automation systems focusing on quick delivery and efficiency, logistics robots, logistics equipment and transportation services, and cold chain technology, were introduced, and 181 companies participated.
The cold chain industry, a logistics system that thoroughly manages and maintains temperature and humidity throughout the supply chain of products sensitive to temperature and humidity changes such as food and medicine, from harvesting raw materials to reaching consumers, has begun to become widely known due to the transportation of COVID-19 vaccines. Accordingly, in July 2021, the ‘Decree on partial revision of the rules for manufacturing and sales management of biological products, etc.’ was fully implemented, and in July last year, the industry also attracted attention as it included the introduction of a cold chain operating system when storing and transporting biological products. .
Cold chain-related companies were set up as a joint pavilion at Korea Pack 2022 (International Packaging Equipment Exhibition) and ICPI WEEK 2022 (International Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics Week) held last year, but as the industry is rapidly emerging, this exhibition consists of specialized pavilions, totaling 26. XNUMX companies participated. Accordingly, we introduce companies that showcased innovative technologies at this International Cold Chain Industry Exhibition (KOREA COLD CHAIN).

Thermolab Korea introduces ‘Ecoliner’, an insulation material processed from waste paper… “Reusable packaging material with no limit to the number of times it can be recycled!”
Thermolab Korea Co., Ltd. (CEO Choi Seok) is a company that strives to contribute to customers’ social value and sustainable management through eco-friendly packaging and IoT-based smart cold chain services. It provides logistics visibility and temperature maintenance validation optimized for e-commerce companies with reusable smart packaging technology, and analyzes customer needs based on continuous and close communication with customers to present customized solutions.
‘Eco-Liner’ introduced at this exhibition is an eco-friendly packaging material that can replace Styrofoam boxes that do not decompose for more than 500 years. Ecoliner, which is made up of paper insulation and paper packaging, is an eco-friendly shipping box that is 100% recyclable.

It is a sustainable packaging that is reborn as paper insulation by processing waste paper such as newspapers and delivery boxes that have been used once and discarded, and can be separated and disposed of again as paper after use.
Noh Si-young, team leader of Thermolab Korea, said, “Eco-liner is a reusable packaging material, and there is no limit to the number of times it can be recycled.” He added, “Our development direction is an eco-friendly packaging material that can replace Styrofoam boxes. “The goal is to make it convenient for users to use while also being helpful to the environment.”

Willolog presents a new cold chain data management solution… “We take smart responsibility for the fresh food distribution process!”
Willlog (respectively CEO Seong-Hoon Bae and Ji-Hyun Yoon) is a company established in 2017 that has been developing and providing cold chain data management solutions. By combining OTQ-based data log devices that transparently record the logistics transportation process and our own software, we implement accurate and safe logistics data management.
At this exhibition, new solutions ‘Fresh Food Middle Mile’ and ‘Fresh Food Last Mile’ were introduced.
In the middle mile area, problems in transporting fresh food such as food ingredients were corrected. We automate document work such as transaction statements and driving records to overcome difficulties caused by lack of monitoring when using consignment trucks or commercial vehicles. In addition, solutions for each case were presented, such as optimizing delivery routes.

In addition, the last mile is the section that reaches individual consumers, and it helps companies identify and respond to direct and indirect cost issues that they must endure by identifying the causes of delivery complaints or returns of fresh food.
CEO Ji-Hyun Yoon said, “We want to reduce the return and disposal rates of our customers by strengthening software as well as hardware,” and expressed her ambition, “We plan to expand investment by actively operating branch offices in the United States and Singapore.” .

Alive introduces Korean-style palette sipper ‘Alive Pack’… “We will lead the domestic pallet sipper industry!”
Alive Co., Ltd. (CEO Seon-mi Lee) is a cold chain logistics company that deals with pharmaceutical and medical device logistics services, medical consumables manufacturing, and cold chain container manufacturing.
‘Alive Pack’ introduced at this exhibition is a cold chain solution for safely transporting temperature-sensitive products. It has a built-in sensor that monitors temperature and location to ensure the safety and efficiency of the product.
There is a coolant inside to maintain the temperature, and the product temperature can be maintained at a constant level for 96 to 120 hours, preserving product quality. It is highly durable and can protect the product from external shock or vibration. Alive also explained that by optimizing the volume and weight of the product, customers can reduce transportation costs by using space efficiently.

An Alive official said, “Alive Pack developed cold chain containers in the Korean pallet size. “As exports of COVID-19 vaccines and other products have increased, the demand for pallet shippers has also increased,” he said. “Various companies in advanced countries such as the U.S. and Europe already have pallet shipper-related industries, but they are not active in Korea, so they are developing their own products.” “We are trying to respond to this,” he said.
He continued, “We are developing an ultra-large cold chain pallet sipper that can put products in their packaging. Packaging is simple and fast, and products that require temperature storage can be transported safely. “We are researching ways to ensure that domestic food can be exported at a low price,” he said. “We will also introduce environmentally friendly and durable packaging containers that can export heavy appliances and equipment in paper boxes. “Our goal is to provide customers with more convenient and safer distribution and transportation services,” he said.
