    Gonghun announces intelligent CCTV control solution ‘PestCare’ at the 2023 World IT Show… “Effective in responding to safety accidents for nursing home patients”

    Gonghoon Co., Ltd. (CEO Taehoon Lee) announced that it will participate in the ‘4 World IT Show (WIS 19)’ held at COEX in Seoul from Wednesday, April 21 to Friday, April 2023.

    Gonghun is a research institute company approved by the Ministry of Science and ICT, located in the Daejeon Research and Development Special Zone, and is developing an effective monitoring solution for the installation and operation of CCTV in nursing homes. Their solution aims to control falls of elderly people, dementia patients leaving the facility, checking care by night care workers, and activities to prevent bedsores for elderly people using automated video analysis technology.

    At this exhibition, Gonghoon will present its intelligent CCTV control solution ‘PestCare’. This is a service for the care of elderly people in nursing homes, and it assists in providing quick care for patients and responding to accidents. It provides a function that monitors images captured through CCTV in real time and uses automatic video analysis technology to deliver information to nursing care workers in the event of a safety accident.

    It has been reported that PestCare has completed the development of the technical configuration needed for nursing facilities and is currently undergoing final testing and certification procedures for commercialization. An official explained that in June, the company plans to launch domestic services in line with the implementation of the Long-Term Care Insurance Act for the Elderly, which mandates the installation and operation of CCTV in nursing facilities, and is seeking to enter overseas markets in 6 based on its experience.

    A merit official said, “Nursing facilities are spaces where a large number of elderly people live as a group, and include many patients with difficulty moving around and dementia patients,” and added, “Pest care is designed to prevent falls, bedsores, and facility damage that may occur in these elderly people. “It will be a solution that enables effective and quick response to defects,” he added.

    He added, “As a result of developing image identification technology for more than three years, we have reached a level where we can discuss the timing of commercialization, and we expect to be able to promote the solution before launch by presenting it at this exhibition.”
