The global photovoltaic conference, ‘2023 Photovoltaic Market Insights (PVMI)’ will be held at EXCO in Daegu from April 4 to 12. In particular, this year’s PVMI has enriched the program by adding new sessions and expanding existing sessions. In particular, officials from large companies, called anchor companies in the industry, decided to participate as speakers, raising expectations from experts and visitors.
This year’s PVMI consisted of a total of 100 specialized sessions under the theme of the future of solar power generation for RE7 implementation. RE100 is a campaign to convert 100% of the electricity used by companies to new and renewable energy. EXCO (CEO Lee Sang-gil) and the PVMI Organizing Committee (Chairperson Jeong Jae-hak) plan to present examples of solar energy policies and investment trends for RE100 implementation and provide professional information to companies and institutions that need to respond to related regulations such as carbon border adjustment tax. am.
The newly established RE100 related session was chaired by Jeong Taek-joong, chairman of the Korea RE100 Council. The sessions included ‘Re100 implementation trends in Korea and analysis of the solar power market’ by Dr. Kim Yoo-chang of Enlighten, ‘Renewable energy (solar power) procurement strategies for successful achievement of RE100 by companies’ by Ko Seong-hun, head of Hanwha Convergence, and Hong Soo-jeong, head of Amorepacific’s ‘Solar Power’. Examples of direct and third-party PPA introduction using light’ and ‘Plan for revitalizing solar energy’ by Kim Bong-young, chief of Korea RE3 Council will be presented.
It is expected that the attention of the visitors will be focused on the movements of companies to realize RE100. Unlike last year, this year’s PVMI attracts attention with the participation of industry anchor companies. In PVMI 2022, major domestic industrial complexes and construction officials mainly participated, but in this PVMI, officials from leading companies such as Hanwha Q Cells, Hanwha Convergence, Amorepacific, LS Electric, Hanwha Solutions, Haedong Engineering, and Junglim Architecture will participate as speakers. .
In addition, this year, sessions on city and future solar power, urban and building-type solar energy policies, and market trends will be expanded. Global experts are invited to intensively explore overseas construction cases related to BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic power generation), which installs solar power on the outer walls of buildings, and discuss market trends.
The Agricultural Solar Energy Session, in which Yeungnam University, Seoul National University, Korea Energy Corporation, and Green Energy Research Institute participate, is a session that receives great interest every year. Jeong Jae-hak, chairman of the PVMI Organizing Committee, said, “This PVMI will serve as a medium to publicize domestic companies and products to the world and promote the sincerity of companies looking at RE100.”
Lee Sang-gil, CEO of EXCO, said, “This International Future Energy Conference will be a good opportunity to learn about the trends in the global renewable energy market in the era of energy transition.” We ask for your interest and participation.”
Meanwhile, PVMI and Hydrogen Market Insight (H2MI) can be pre-registered until April 4, and will be held both online and offline. When registering in advance, you can receive up to 6% discount compared to on-site registration. For companies participating in the 25th International Green Energy Expo, special discount prices are applied. Related matters can be inquired at the secretariat.
