‘2023 Photovoltaic Market Insight (PVMI)’, which has emerged as a global solar conference, will be held at EXCO in Daegu for two days, starting with the opening ceremony on the 12th.
This year’s theme for PVMI 2023, hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do and organized by EXCO and the Korea Photovoltaic Society, is ‘The future of solar power generation for RE100 implementation.’ It is designed as a place where you can see at a glance the RE100-related policies that global companies are participating in and closely understand the trends of domestic companies.
There is analysis that the policies and strategies proposed at this PVMI will play a major role in establishing the new and renewable energy policy of the Yoon Seok-yeol government, now in its second year. In addition, officials from global professional organizations such as Bloomberg, EIRP (Energy Innovation Reform Project), and ESMC (European Solar Manufacturing Consortium) will participate in PVMI 2.
In addition, officials from major institutions such as the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, the Export-Import Bank of Korea, Hanwha Solutions, Hanwha Convergence, and Amore Pacific will grace the occasion with simultaneous online and offline sessions. The latest domestic solar energy market policies and trends are introduced, and experts’ perspectives on the future of the solar energy market can be examined.
In his opening speech, PVMI Organizing Committee Chairman Jeong Jae-hak (Professor at Yeungnam University) said, “This year’s PVMI was richly composed of sessions on industry issues such as BIPV, agricultural solar power, and floating solar power,” adding, “Many companies sponsored us, and we would like to thank them again.” “I give it to you,” he said.
At this conference, sessions covering △Solar energy policy and investment trends △Global solar energy market trends and outlook △City and future solar power △Agricultural solar power market trends △RE100 implementation and solar power industry △Floating solar power market trends and outlook, etc. This goes on.
Representatives from various domestic companies are expected to participate in this year’s newly established RE100 implementation and solar energy industry sessions. The session, chaired by Jeong Taek-jung, Chairman of the Korea RE100 Council, included Dr. Kim Yu-chang of Enlighten’s ‘Domestic RE100 Implementation Trends and Solar Power Market Analysis’, and Hanwha Convergence Manager Ko Seong-hoon’s ‘Renewable Energy (Solar Power) Procurement for Companies to Successfully Achieve RE100′. Strategies’, Amorepacific team leader Hong Soo-jeong’s ‘Cases of direct and third-party PPA introduction using solar power’, and ‘Korea RE3 Council chief Kim Bong-young’s ‘Solar power revitalization plan’ will be presented.
Meanwhile, this PVMI will be held simultaneously with events such as the 20th International Green Energy Expo, the 3rd Hydrogen Market Insight (H2MI), the 2023 Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Forum, and AgriVoltaics 2023. In particular, it will be held as an online-offline hybrid conference and will also provide a platform for real-time streaming for online attendees.
