Korea FT presents eco-friendly car parts at the ‘2023 Seoul Mobility Show’… “Expansion of business sector utilizing global network”
Korea FT Co., Ltd. (CEO Oh Won-seok, Kim Jae-san) announced that it will participate in the ‘3 Seoul Mobility Show’ held for a total of 31 days at KINTEX from March 4 to April 9.
Korea FT is an auto parts company that has developed and localized design parts including plastic filler necks and auto sunshades for cars, starting with carbon canisters, which are eco-friendly car parts. With a domestic R&D center, three factories, and nine production facilities in five countries, including the US, China, India, Poland, and Slovakia, the company is aggressively targeting the global market. In addition to five domestic automakers, it supplies products to leading global brands such as Volkswagen, GM, Renault Global, Nissan, Porsche, Volvo, Skoda, Lynk&Co, Li Auto, and HOZON.
Canister, one of the products exhibited at this exhibition, is a vehicle evaporative gas control device component, and is an eco-friendly product essential to meet evaporative gas laws at home and abroad. In particular, it is known as a product that satisfies the most stringent North American LEV-III and TIER-3 laws.
Multi-layer filler neck and PA6+nano filler neck are eco-friendly products that can respond to strengthened environmental regulations while achieving fuel efficiency improvement by applying lightweight plastic materials. PA6+Nano Filler Neck is a single-layered structure by applying a new nano material, so it is possible to respond to reinforced environmental regulations.
In addition, door curtains and sunshades are products developed for the purpose of protecting passengers’ convenience and privacy by blocking sunlight. With a design specific to the applied vehicle, the door curtain is installed on the door trim of the rear seat, and the sunshade is installed on the rear seat package trim. The electric sunshade is a driven product that operates by converting the rotation of the motor into link operation, and its advantages are improved ease of use and drivability.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are also introduced. An official from Korea FT said, “Existing object detection technology using an image sensor has deteriorated detection performance in low-illumination or low-light night environments. This product is a deep learning network solution developed to solve these problems and maximize detection performance in the night environment.”
Korea FT added a self-developed module to maximize the nighttime performance of the deep learning network for object detection. This module has a feature that improves nighttime performance through learning but does not affect the processing speed of the deep learning network, and even when transplanted to other deep learning networks, better performance can be expected only at night. .
Lastly, in the case of VIM (Virtual Image Monitor), wide eye box, long eye relief, and distortion-free technology were applied to eliminate the dizziness of existing VR devices. In addition, it supports various devices and can be easily connected to PC, smartphone, Nintendo, etc. It was introduced as a domestic patented landscape-portrait mode conversion technology that maintains the 9:16 aspect ratio and resolution to realize a realistic large-screen portrait mode.
An official said, “We plan to expand the carbon canister and plastic filler neck business areas by participating in bidding for overseas finished vehicle companies using our global network. In-vehicle convenience devices such as sunshades are expected to be gradually expanded, so we plan to continue developing technologies such as low-current, low-noise reducers. In addition, in the case of the ADAS solution, we plan to add area classification functions such as vehicle drivable areas and sidewalk areas in the future from the current object detection system, and VIM, which is currently in mass production, is preparing for full-scale sales from 2023.” told
