The ‘Seoul Mobility Show 2023’, hosted by the Seoul Mobility Show Organizing Committee (Chairman Kang Nam-hoon and Chairman of the Korea Automobile Industry Association, hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee) and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Environment, and Goyang Special City, will be held on the 2023st. The 2023 Seoul Mobility Show, with the theme of ‘Sustainable·Connected·Mobility’, will feature 3 exhibitors from 12 countries around the world in three categories: Hardware, Software, and Service. It is held with the participation of companies and institutions. The exhibition size was 163㎡, an increase of more than 53,541% compared to the 2021 Seoul Mobility Show, and the size of participating companies and institutions also increased by more than 100%.
First of all, the hardware sector is divided into ▲Auto makers ▲Auto parts ▲New Mobility ▲Tuning/Camping/Leisure, and a total of 65 companies participate. Among these, in the automaker field, 12 domestic and imported car brands will participate, unveiling a total of 8 new cars, including 4 World Premieres, 9 Asia Premieres, and 21 Korea Premieres, and 10 types of concept cars will also be exhibited. In addition, six eco-friendly car brands and three two-wheeler brands will have exhibition booths.
In the new mobility field of the hardware sector prepared for the convergence exhibition, which is the main focus of this year’s Seoul Mobility Show, a total of 9 companies participated to showcase future mobility such as robotics, urban air transportation (UAM), and personal aerial vehicle (PAV), and Auto Parts In the field, 22 companies will participate and exhibit future mobility platforms, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and aftermarket parts. A total of 13 companies are participating in the tuning, camping, and leisure fields.
A total of 50 companies and institutions will set up booths in the software sector, which is divided into ▲Mobility Tech, ▲Mobility Institution, and ▲Mobility Incubating. Among these, the mobility incubating field was established to discover excellent technologies for startups and provide business opportunities, and this year, a total of 12 startups will participate and showcase various technologies. Next, a total of 33 companies and institutions will participate in the service sector, and a total of 15 companies and institutions will set up booths in other sectors led by overseas government agencies, universities, and associations.
The opening ceremony on the 31st was attended by Kang Nam-hoon, Chairman of the Seoul Mobility Show Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Korea Automobile Industry Association, Yoon Kwan-seok, Chairman of the National Assembly Trade, Industry and Energy Small and Medium Venture Business Committee, Lee Won-wook, National Assembly member for Gyeonggi Hwaseong, Lee Yong-woo, National Assembly member for Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, and Jang Young-jin, First Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy. In his opening speech, Chairman Kang Nam-hoon of the organizing committee said, “In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, automobiles have changed to ‘mobile devices,’ means of transportation have changed to ‘means of transportation,’ ownership has changed to ‘sharing,’ and the center of the industry has changed from supplier to ‘consumer.’ “The upcoming mobility revolution will change the paradigm of our lives and industry,” he said.
He continued, “The mobility industry still needs a lot of nurturing and support, so the Seoul Mobility Show also has a long way to go, but at this exhibition, you can see a variety of products and technologies such as self-driving cars, eco-friendly cars, urban air transportation platforms, and robotics. “We hope that the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show will be an opportunity for visitors to see the convergence and evolution of the mobility industry, changes in the industry’s ecosystem, and the future blueprint,” he said.
In his congratulatory speech, Yoon Kwan-seok, chairman of the National Assembly Trade, Industry, Energy, Small and Medium Venture Business Committee, said, “The automobile industry, which plays a key role in the domestic economy and job creation, is in the midst of a huge change called ‘mobility.’” He also added, “The National Assembly is also more active than other major countries overseas. “Considering the reality of insufficient support, we plan to provide as much support as possible to help Korea maintain the competitiveness of the automobile industry, secure its role as a global electric vehicle production hub, and at the same time strengthen its competitiveness in the future automobile market.”

The Seoul Mobility Awards, which aims to discover and view excellent companies and technologies in the mobility field, will be expanded and reorganized.
