[Las Vegas (USA) = AVING News] SOS Lab (CEO Jeong Ji-seong), a lidar specialized company, held ‘CES 2023’ held in Las Vegas, USA for a total of 4 days from January 5th (Thursday) to 8th (Sunday, local time). ‘, and introduced ‘ML-X’, a next-generation 3D fixed LiDAR mounted on a vehicle lamp, and ‘GL’, a LiDAR for robots.

SOS Lab was founded in 2016 by four doctoral students at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, and is a company that has been researching and developing lidar technology. LiDAR technology can be applied to self-driving cars, robots, smart factories, and smart cities. We have continued to collaborate with large companies such as Hyundai Motor Group and SK Securities with the goal of developing new products and building autonomous driving infrastructure.

‘ML-X’, which was unveiled at CES 2023, is characterized by more than doubling the distance performance and resolution compared to existing products, and successfully miniaturizing the size. Each resolution (distinguishable signal unit) has also been improved by three times. The overall product weight was reduced to 860g by applying a dedicated SOC for laser control of the transmitter. It is evaluated as maximizing user convenience as no additional external modules are required to operate the lidar.

In addition, ‘GL’, a lidar for robots that began mass production this year, also received a good response. ‘GL’ is a lidar sensor used in robots and has high angular resolution and fast scanning speed. In addition, the LiDAR experience zone prepared by SOS Lab attracted numerous visitors. A motion capture game that detects movement using LiDAR data was played on site and gained popularity.

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
