    Q. Editor-in-chief Choi Ji-hoon: CES 2023 appears to have recovered the atmosphere that had slowed down due to the pandemic in recent years. What is the atmosphere of the scene that you felt directly?

    A. Deputy Director Seonyoung Joo: It was great to see companies that had been through adversity due to the COVID-19 pandemic carrying out passionate business at this CES. In fact, I did not expect so many buyers or investors to come from the first day of the exhibition, but I could not help but be surprised to see the crowds that visited Eureka Park.

    Q. Editor-in-chief Choi Ji-hoon: Please introduce the Gyeonggi Province Economic and Science Promotion Agency.

    A. Deputy Director Joo Seon-young: The Gyeonggi Province Economic and Science Promotion Agency is an organization that provides various types of help, including start-up support and education, to companies located in Gyeonggi-do. Among them, the exhibition team of the Promotion Agency’s Global Trade Headquarters is helping companies develop export channels.

    Q. Editor-in-Chief Jihoon Choi: I understand that a systematic plan has been established step by step to support companies participating in CES 2023.

    A. Deputy Director Seonyoung Joo: That’s right. First of all, if companies are insufficiently prepared for the exhibition, it is difficult to actively discuss contracts even if they meet buyers on site. To prevent this, prior training was provided to participating companies. At the same time, sufficient information was provided so that companies could be aware of CES’ various programs.

Subsequently, promotional videos for companies are produced at the exhibition site and distributed to the media and various media, and media reports related to each company are also actively conducted in collaboration with AVING News. In addition, after the exhibition, we plan to continue providing support to companies so that they can achieve practical results.

    Q. Editor-in-Chief Jihoon Choi: Do you have any plans in the future to share issues and insights in general and each field gained by participating in CES 2023?

    A. Deputy Director Seonyoung Joo: As various media outlets from around the world are showing great interest in CES, we would like to create new opportunities by sharing the successful stories born from this place, where information that will lead the industry in the future, are gathered with domestic companies.

    Q. Editor-in-Chief Choi Ji-hoon: I think the Promotion Agency will have a lot of concerns due to the ongoing global economic downturn. Do you have a differentiated plan to help companies overcome the current crisis?

    A. Deputy Director Seonyoung Joo: Due to the long-term spread of COVID-19, the way to participate in offline exhibitions, which is the most effective way to expand overseas, has been blocked for several years. We will participate in CES as the first exhibition since 2023, when the pandemic entered the country. Starting from this, we plan to provide generous support to enable the KOCCA’s companies to participate in more diverse domestic and international exhibitions regardless of field.

Beyond IT, home appliances, and tech, we plan to enter exhibitions in fields such as general consumer goods and medical devices. In addition, we will support companies that cannot participate in the exhibition by setting up individual booths due to various environmental issues and limitations, and provide active support in forming a joint pavilion for companies in the Gyeonggi-do region. As a result, we will become a reliable partner for companies that want to promote the competitiveness of their brands and products, and we hope to further grow the size of the joint building.

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
