Mediana Co., Ltd. (CEO Gil Moon-jong) announced that it will participate in the 3th International Medical Equipment & Hospital Equipment Exhibition ‘KIMES 23’ held at COEX, Seoul from March 26 (Thu) to 38 (Sun).
Established in 1993, Mediana has been steadily growing and accumulating technology for 30 years, directly developing and producing defibrillators and patient monitoring equipment, and supplying them domestically and internationally.
The defibrillator ‘A16’ to be exhibited at this exhibition is not a technology that analyzes the electrocardiogram of a cardiac arrest patient and determines whether an electric shock is necessary like the existing AED and then recharges it. ‘The patent has been applied. The patent is currently applied to all AEDs produced by Mediana. Mediana emphasized, “The number of cases where people who have been resuscitated from arrhythmia or cardiac arrest are implanted with a device called ‘Pacemaker’, and the A16 is the only domestically manufactured product that can be applied to these patients.”
The modular patient monitoring device ‘M50’ to be introduced together provides high visibility through a 15-inch high-definition display and eight screen modes, and the touch screen and hard keys enable quick operation even in emergency situations. It can measure up to 8 vital signs, and the fusion of Nellcor’s SpO12 technology and AND’s NIBP technology provides precise clinical accuracy. In addition, as a modular patient monitoring device, it has the advantage of being able to operate the equipment flexibly as the optional module can be easily attached and detached.
Regarding the background of M50 development, Mediana officials said, “Patient monitoring devices are used in various spaces in hospitals, such as wards, intensive care units, emergency rooms, and endoscopy rooms. Therefore, we tried to develop a patient monitoring device that can be used in any environment. To that end, we have kept in mind that it can be provided at a reasonable price while having high specifications and functionality, and it is possible to measure various vital signs. To meet these needs, we made it possible to choose as many as 12 parameter options, and developed a modular system so that the parameters can be measured as needed in multiple beds.”

In addition, it was added that only a small amount of modules could be used for several M50s, and that domestic manufacturing made it possible to supply products at a reasonable price. In addition, specific modules were supplied through collaboration with global partners, and the 12-lead ECG algorithm of the University of Glasgow in the UK was adopted so that sufficient performance can be performed even in areas with many critically ill patients.
An official said, “In the case of the A16, as a new launch, the domestic market is currently in the process of supplying to public institutions and government offices through the Public Procurement Service, and the quantity is gradually increasing. Inquiries for direct purchases from other large corporations continue to increase. As for overseas markets, exports are steadily increasing, mainly to European markets such as Germany, England, France, and Russia.”
In addition, he added, “Despite being a new product, the M50 is being delivered to various university hospitals and local hospitals, and it is also being delivered to national and public hospitals and institutions, receiving positive reviews.”
On the other hand, KIMES is an exhibition specializing in medical devices and hospital facilities that has grown steadily with the development of the Korean medical industry since its first meeting in 1980. It has transformed into a technology-intensive high-tech industry such as rehabilitation medicine.
KIMES 2023 will feature new technologies and new products suitable for the era of convergence, such as smart healthcare in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, robotic medicine and eco-friendly medical waste facilities, cutting-edge hospital facilities, medical information systems combined with IT technology, and the automobile industry for rapid patient transportation. presents. In addition, it provides a variety of information, including seminars on medical technology, new technology, and overseas marketing, as well as domestic medical industry policy seminars that will show the latest information and direction of the medical industry.
