The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which hosts CES, pre-evaluated the entries and awarded the ‘CES 2023’ Innovation Awards to products with excellent technology and design.
At this year’s CES, the Korea Start-up Agency, Seoul Business Agency, and Seoul Digital Foundation jointly prepared the ‘K-STARTUP’ integrated pavilion, and 51 domestic innovative companies participated, 14 of which received the ‘CES Innovation Awards (CES 2023 Innovation Awards). )’ had the honor of becoming the main character.
The CES Innovation Award is an award given by the host, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), to products of companies with excellent innovation by evaluating the products and technology of participating companies prior to the exhibition. CTA announced the results of a total of 2022 awards selected across 11 categories on November 16, 28 (local time).
Among them, domestic companies received a total of 141 innovation awards, accounting for 28.3% of the total, and companies participating in the K-STARTUP integrated pavilion recorded 17 awards in fields such as bio/healthcare, manufacturing, mobility, ESG, and data. The companies, products, and technologies participating in the K-STARTUP Integrated Hall that received innovation awards at this CES are as follows.
△DNA Corporation (Genome data analysis ADHD screening service ‘ADHD BANK’) △Seven Point One (AI non-face-to-face cognitive ability test solution ‘AlzWIN’) △Inhand Plus (AI smartwatch-based medication management solution) △Smatoos Korea (home use) Oral monitoring device ‘Smatoos’) △AlgoCare (AI-based real-time 1:1 customized nutritional management service ‘NaaS’) △Beacon (scalp home care management service ‘With Beacon’) 6 bio and healthcare fields
△Raonark (instant locking technology that eliminates security vulnerabilities/unhackable smart safety ring/fully automatic mortise-based non-action handle door lock) △Supernova (artificial intelligence modular robot arm ‘Hunit’) △CuringInnos (artificial intelligence customized for one person) Tennis robot ‘Ivolve Trainer’) and more than 1 manufacturing fields
△EVA (mobile electric vehicle charging system ‘VMC’/autonomous robot for charging electric vehicles ‘Parky’) △AU (in-cabin passenger detection radar) △Mars Auto (autonomous driving system for trucks ‘Mars Pilot’) 4 mobility fields
In addition, △Airdeep (AI indoor air quality measuring device ‘Airdeep-Home’, ESG field) and △IndieJ (AI music recommendation platform, digital field) were included.
By far, the field that received the most innovation awards was the bio and healthcare field. Among them, DNA Corporation and Seven Point One each diagnosed users’ genomic data and cognitive abilities based on AI technology, and presented solutions that are effective in preventing and improving ADHD and dementia in children. It has recently received high praise as an alternative that can respond to the rapid aging process and the rapidly increasing number of children with ADHD.
The characteristic of Inhand Plus, Smartus Korea, and Beacon is that they demonstrate synergy by combining hardware and software with technology optimized for each product’s use. In addition, AlgoCare also won an innovation award for its solution that helps users manage and maintain their health, and all of them are focusing on satisfying the demand for simple and effective home care.
In the manufacturing field, which followed with 5 innovation awards, Raonark won as many as 4 innovation awards for its smart lock series, which boasts smart technology representing the 3th Industrial Revolution and enhanced security performance, and was selected as a K-STARTUP integrated company. Achieved the record for the most awards. In addition, Supernova and QingInnos were recognized for their excellence through the fusion of robotics technology and functions focused on improving the quality of human life.
In the mobility field, Eva and Mars Auto, which used ‘electric vehicles’ and ‘autonomous driving’ as keywords, which are mobility market trends encompassing the present and the future, became the main characters of the innovation award. It is interpreted that they each received high scores in that they presented the possibility of solving problems remaining in the related industry by realizing fast electric vehicle charging and autonomous driving of large vehicles. In addition, AU, which demonstrated sensor technology that can effectively prevent safety accidents that may occur in mobility-vulnerable groups, also received the Innovation Award.
At the same time, Airdeep received favorable reviews for introducing AI and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to help improve air quality, which is the biggest topic in global environmental issues, and has a much larger user preference data than existing AI-based music recommendation platforms. IndieJ, which implemented hyper-personalization of playlists, also stood shoulder to shoulder with other award-winning companies.
Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest technology fair, is an exhibition where you can see the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
The K-STARTUP Integrated Pavilion is jointly participated by the Korea Start-up Agency, Seoul Business Agency, and Seoul Digital Foundation, and 51 domestic innovative companies participate to enter the U.S. market and discover global partners. In addition, CES 2023 college student supporters selected from each university (Kyunghee University, Kookmin University, Sogang University, and Chung-Ang University) are matched considering majors and industrial fields of participating companies.
